Picked up a working Space Fury, it is in a convert a cab with a working G08 monitor!
I paid to much but now I can use the Sega Multi kit. I have a broken Star Trek SOS, so I have a correct control panel.

I will not be keeping this cab, boards, non-working monitor and Space Fury parts.
let me know if you have any interest in all or any parts! In central Ohio

If you just bought it for the monitor then put the dead monitor in and resell it with the dead monitor. You might actually recover most of your money.

This is why I HATE most multi-games. What a total waste of a game. Don't be a fool and ruin a rare game.

Hold on, sorry for any confusion. I am swapping the monitors and turning my Star Trek into a sega Multi. I am then putting the non working monitor in the Space Fury cab and plan to sell it as a full cab, with working pcb, but a dead monitor. If, any only if, I can not sell than I would look to part.

I know this is a rare game but not sure how many folks would be looking for one. And one with a dead G08.

Why aren't one of you purists offering him the parts he needs and a little cash kicker? You all like telling everyone to save their conversions, but none of you ever steps up to the plate to take these "rare collectibles" off our hands.

If you think it's so great, make him an offer he can't refused? Anyone?, Anyone? Beuller?

I thought so.

BTW, Space Fury is pretty cool, but it hardly competes with a Sega Multi... whatever that is.

80sarcade, Congrats on your find and good luck on your project.

Good, here's a cookie. The world owes you a debt of gratitude for "saving" a significant part of history. Where can I send you some donations?

Question

As a "newbee" myself (only in reference to this website, but certainly not to arcade games as I grew up in the 80's...) I would like to know if when a hypothetical member/poster is identified in post after post as having no regard to the preservation of dedicated machines they can be banned? It seems there are plenty of other sites that deal with all things "MAME" and in all the various ways to butcher original cabinets, and I really don't like to hear about it here. Just look at the top left of your screen and ask yourself if you are in the right place...

BTW: this is not in reference to the OP, as it does sound like they are willing to put the bad monitor back in and sell the cabinet whole.

It is an infraction-able offense to part out a cabinet in the For Sale section without offering it for two weeks whole... I think that's as far as it will go though.

Sadly, this is the Vintage Arcade Preservation Society in name only. While there are some preservationistas here , there are also a lot of hacks and posers. Get ready for the "it's my game and I can do whatever I want with it" crew or the " why don't you drive 3k miles and save the game yourself" crew or the " Parting out a game will save 10 others" crew to start hassling you. The last time I commented on someone that parted out a game it got deleted by a "moderator" that I had no idea was even a "moderator". So don't expect much and you won't be too disappointed.

signed,
Klov's Most Wanted Preservationista,
ArcRevival.

PS, you are relatively local to me and if you ever need anything arcade related, let me know.

Edit: The answer to your original question is never. Welcome to VAPS.
