After MONTHS of effing with this thing, searching for parts, PCB, etc Super Hang On is FINALLY part of the lineup!

About 8 months ago my 3 year old asked for a motorcycle game, and I happily searched for one. I found one in SoCal and picked it up for cheap (aren't all SHO's cheap? ha). Fellow KLOVer Herbertsmart helped me out tremendously with pickup and storage until I moved down, and its finally up and running.

Had a few challenges: needed to find a brake handle and entire break setup (cable, etc), and had to find a PCB stack that worked. Props to Mylstar for hooking up the brake parts that I needed, and big thanks to bigdadandsir for sending me a PCB set. A combination of his PCB and mine helped bring this thing back to life. Lastly, a HUGE thanks to Mark Haysman out in the UK who via email patiently walked me through getting my PCB to work. This community really is awesome.

After a LONG wait, Sam is STOKED:

THAT my friends is what its all about.

Now excuse me whilst he and I go put the rubber on the road.

Didn't those come with a sit down motorcycle?

The Fast and Furious bikes games by Raw Thrills are pretty cool.

Looks very nice! I love that game. Can you tell me, is there glass or plexi protecting your monitor? Mine is plex, but I thought it may have originally been glass. Keep in mind the accelerator cable for this game is unique, unlike sega brake cables (the use of which is duplicated for accelerators in other titles like hang-on & enduroracer).

The only course I can't complete is the European / Expert one.

Damn that game was fun. You must get the deluxe model at some point.

I had gaming deja vu last night, and it was awesome. My 7th Birthday party was at Bullwinkle's in the Bay Area. My uncle who was 30 at the time sat and played the sitdown version of this game with me the entire time. I was too little to move the game back and forth so he helped by pushing it for me. Last night, I was standing behind Sam helping him steer and realized that I was 30 doing the exact same thing with the exact same game as my Uncle did with me that day back in '88. It was awesome.

Mine is plexi as well.

LOVE this soundtrack BTW.

nice pickup

I don't have any memories BITD for my Outrun but after picking up free after free outruns and a $50 one later on... I now have 1.5 working Outruns. My second one needs two chips reburned and the steering controls rebuilt w/ parts from my 3 extra steering panels. My kids are too short to play but they really want to play driving games. I can't wait till they can play this one.

I started with this free one:

combined with this free one from mylstar:

and took the board from a 1/2 complete $50 machine to bring it back to life. I did long hauls on 3 machines and loads of gas but it was basically free after selling off a few extra parts. I did buy a Steel B gear waiting to go in. I even have the freeplay kit and upgrade capacitor in there.

Nice! I love OutRun, and still hate that I sold mine. I'll own one again, and throw an Afterburner next to it. SHO, OutRun, and Afterburner will be awesome together.
