Anyone have a manual for the later run of Ms. Pacs?

Curious about a couple things like:

1. Where does the Ms. Pac daughter card mount to? I have it kind of hooked onto the ESD cage. I don't see any mounting holes on the metal plate, but haven't taken it all the way out of the cage either.

2. Do any other games use the same power suitcase at the bottom of the cab?

I have a late run (sticker side-art) Ms Pac and on mine, the mainboard is in a metal "cage" - the daughterboard is mounted to the front of cage.

Thanks

Is it mounted with screws or something? Is it mounted to the inside or outside of the cage? I'll have to pull mine out and take a better look at it.

Im pretty sure its a super pac power brick. I have a bunch of pics of a late mspac. Let me find them and see if I can see the daughterboard.

Yeah, it mounts to the metal cage on the inside. Here is a pic. This was an all original machine, never been touched.

That's it. Mine is hooked onto the metal cage like that but isn't screwed own or anything. I need to take a better look at it.

The brick is the same as well, but Super Pac didn't use that type at least not the one I had.

Thanks for the pics. I wonder if Midway updated the manual to reflect the changes

Im pretty sure the brick was the same as super pac. In fact, the wiring harness were super pac harness that were modified. The machine in the pic I posted still had the super pac tag on the wiring harness.

Super Pac or Jr Pac?

Wow..you learn something everyday...I never actually noticed the difference as I haven't seen the inside of many later run Ms. Pacs....seems they were using whatever they had lying around to finish them off using super pac harness...:D What was the purpose of having an cage as opposed to the earlier models where it was just mounted on cabinet..? Did it have something to do with shielding from the monitor or interference..that was an issue on the cocktails which is why if you find one that is original you'll see they had custom metal shield over the transformer so it didn't interfer with monitor...but why the boards...?

RFI shielding would be my guess. It was probably required to comply to federal regulations.
There are many, many differences in the late build cabs. The most obvious is the vinyl art.

What voltages does the transformer brick doohickey supply to the game PCB? Are they AC like the majority of Pac/Ms. Pac games or are they DC and the PCB just regulates them?

That looks like a MCR style transformer assembly. If I'm not mistakes, Super Pac-Man used a transformer assembly like BurgerTime.....without the big capacitors.

You might be right Ed, its been several years since I saw that machine. I dont recall any tags on the brick assembly like the wiring had. Its like these machines were cobbled together with spare parts.

But no power supply PCB like Super Pac?

Man, its been about 5 years since I looked at this machine. For some reason I was sure it was a dc board but maybe not now that you mention the power supply. I checked the few pics I have and it doesnt seem to have one. The wires appear to come straight from the brick up the the board so thats a good indication it is an ac board.
I have tried buying this machine a couple times but the owner wont give it up.

If that truely is a MCR transformer assembly (and it looks like it too me), it outputs AC and DC.
