I know some people off this board scored some of the parts off of this monster outta
V.A
I picked up the naked cab for free.. it has a few dings and a little water damage..
I got the monitor for it too.. but im gonna put a tv in it and run a SNES till I can figure out what I wanna do with it.

Yeah, I was thinking of grabbin' that system at play-n-trade that plays
nes and snes games.

some one one here had a snes to jamma adapter or somehting a little bit ago maybe still f/s?

if you decide to do n64 instead, i have something totally awesome you want.

Im pretty much open to all options.. i have a tv that fits in the cab pretty nice... so im trying to keep it simple.. i dont have the harness or anything, plus im gonna have to hack a controller and make my own C/P.

any idea what that is or does? pm me

..why would you waste time with some crappy tv and a snes inside? Go find a KI board and restore it

your in the wrong hobby then.

I wouldn't say that, I'm poor and I do alright. Minus a couple of machines, I haven't paid over $100 for my games. ICB and Dragon's Lair are the only ones I've paid over $100 for.

KI boards are pretty cheap. And, IIRC, the CPs have the same basic button layout as a Street Fighter (8 way, lp, mp, hp, lk, mk, hk)... and those are pathetically cheap.

If you're lacking funds... then just sell the cabinet (minus the monitor) to some MAME kid, they offer $150+ for gutted cabs here. Then you can use that $150+ to scout on CL and find 2-3 project machines, or 1 good one, with that money... and you'll still get a good spare monitor out of the deal.

In 9 years, I have owned over 40 games and have not paid more than $100 for any game, except on two occasions. Most of the time, I trade work for games or trade unwanted games for others. Occasionally, I will sell and use the cash for what I want or parts. Unfortunately, the "buy low or don't buy" approach won't get you very far when there aren't a lot of games around, like where I live.

What do you consider cheap? Working KI boards routinely top $250 now. Its insane. KI2 isn't nearly as good but it still gets around $200.

yeah i was about to say how in the hell are good working ki 1 board hdd chip set cheap, lol $250 is not cheap in my book dude

Got the cab for FREE.. already have a snes, just gotta build a control panel.

I'll be in the cab about 50 bucks. I like snes, I like arcade machines. Ive got a machine
for jamma boards... the only machines I would care about being dedicated are the golden
era games.. Dk, Mario, Pac man, that sorta thing...

The way i see it.. there isnt any point in restoring a cab of a game that I'm not interested in.
If anyone wants it bad enough i would gladly trade it for a naked cab of an older game.
You can even have the monitor with it.

As far as this being a bad hobby for being poor..
Ive got 1 pin and 3 upright games, only have 250 in all of it.. and that was all on one cab.

As far as being able to get cheap games,it's all about timing. It's nice to hear people who get games and don't break the bank doing it.1+ for everyone who shows the klov community that you can be relatively cheap and be in this hobby!

I agree about the SNES. NOT suitable for an arcade cab IMO. N64 had some great games and with an S-video connection it'll look pretty good on a decent(sony trinitron?) TV in there. You can even play Killer Instinct Gold which is a great port of KI 2 if you want to be somewhat authentic. N64 has a great library of arcade ports if that's the route you want to take.

I would personally try to restore it to a KI of some sort because I love the game but I totally understand being on a budget. Just try not to bastardize it that's all I can ask :)

I have a snes and 64, I just want a console cab. Ive seen a few on here and
they are pretty cool.

This cab is just a shell, the guy i got it from parted it out.
It was a fully dedicated functioning cab only a week ago.
However, they had some monitor issues and also discovered it was
infested with roaches.
So they sold every last part of it, including the harness.

So I dont feel bad about putting a system in a shell...
and again.. if anyone really cared that much Id be happy to trade.
