I've been trying to remember the name of this game for weeks. Each cabinet had 2 flight sticks, one for the pilot and one for the 2nd player gunner. the ships looked remarkably like "gunstars" from The Last Starfighter. There were usually multiple cabinets linked together for PVP battles, and you could customize the stats of your ship (speed, armor, firepower, etc). It was a fully 3d environment in game, and I think it was released early 90s.

Name that game!

space lords. I was told the game was originally tested as a winner stays loser pays situation. More of a cuthroat action. When it went into prduction, the changed the game play. I would love to find a set of proto roms. Jim hill had a proto cab, but the roms were updated.

Here is my cab at cax:

I like it, but I think I am in the minority. The open world aspect of it is what I find cool. You a fly around and do nothing if you like, or you can nuke the crap out them.

I used to have a kit one I took to early years of cax. An atari employee put into a cops and robbers cab. When I sold it, I took my personal game when someone asked to see it. Space lords gets played at cax, but not so much that it needs to be there every year. Maybe every 2 or 3 is fine. Its a big cab and Its not that easy to load. But its also jamma, so you could easily build a single if you wanted.

I kinda regret passing on this at auction, but it's so big for a game I haven't really played. How fun is it?

I enjoyed it the few times I got to play it. I have a boardset and cps that I want to put into a single cab. Lack of a sedond position does limit it a little, but there's no way tonget that cab in any space I have.
