Last plea for Racing Jam help before it gets scrapped.

Coming towards Philly any time soon? Maybe I can take a stab at it. I have chip clips that I'm wondering if I can attach to the chip while it's still on the board and extend to the burner somehow.

I'm pretty sure they're not surface mount chips... aren't they just DIP chips, but soldered to the board? If you can't get anyone else willing to do it, I'd be willing to help out. I haven't done this exact procedure, but the desoldering part isn't a problem, and my EPROM burner should be able to read and write these chips... and if I have any problem writing, it seems that I can email the file to one of the others who can do it, and they can burn you the chips and you can pop them in the sockets that I'd install.

Drop me a PM if you'd like me to look at them. And I'm in the DC area if you're close, and would like to bring them by rather than shipping.

Hi Silverduck, you mentioned to have several Racing Jam boards... I mostly collect racing/driving games. Are you (still) interested in selling one of your boards ? It would be fun to have this one as well..

what I also could do is pay you for one of the non-working boards and you also send me the 4th(working) board and I'll be doing the desoldering/reading writing part for you (and sharing the data out to others to grab) to have 3 good working board-sets in the end. I just would need the boards containing the M48T58Y chip to do the work (to save shipping costs). I've done this several times now on other konami's as well, so that should be satisfying.
just let me know.
