I was browsing CL last night and saw a value priced Karate Champ for sale. The ad had been up for an hour so I figured it was gone, but called anyway. Guy told me he still had it and I asked where he was at. Turned out to be 5 miles from my house! Headed over right away and picked it up. It was upstairs in a workshop and luckily I brought my hd handtruck and he had a friend of his to help as it took all 3 of us to get it safely down stairs. It's in good condition and it works. It could use a monitor capping, cleaning, new feet, locks and the marquee light is out. 1 Joystick is different as well. - Barry

Nice one Barry. You bringing it to the Seattle show? I haven't played Karate Champ in a long time. Use to play it in Roche Harbor in their arcade by the pool.

I don't think KC gets the love it deserves from the general community- It's a fairly basic game, but I can remember it being one of the first actual arcade games I ever played. Maybe it's more the nostalgia for me but I love having it in my lineup now.

KC defiantly needs more love. It was a must play every time I went to the arcade, bitd.

I also picked one up recently, in pretty decent shape. Just need to find a way to tighten up the sticks. I don't want to replace the originals but they are really floppy.

Nice Barry!! Karate Champ is one of my all-time favs. I think I've posted in every KC thread there has been.

You need to check out the HSS kit for it: http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=157280 The minor bugs are being worked out, but the more people that get the kit, the quicker the bugs get fixed (I assume.)

FULL POINT!! Awesome game.

Remember, KC is where it all began....

Thanks Jeff. I'm not sure of the overall plan for this game. I have some work to do on it, then it will probably reside at a friends house. It may go to the show.

ah, so you're the one that got it. i was hoping it would go to a SMACer.

I couldn't pass it up for the location and price. - Barry
