Last call for ordering of SW/ESB Kits by 9/17/2011

In before the cutoff! I've been very tight on money or would have committed earlier. Glad I made it though.

OK I figured I better get one for my spare board set wile I can.
Payment sent.
Looking forward to the Multi SEGA sound board next. :D

How's the last batch coming along? When do you think the last of 'em will ship?

Also, did that ESB menu bug get fixed?

Yeah, I'm checking in with the same question since it's been three weeks. No rush, really, just curious.

Also, what was the ESB menu bug? I must have missed that.

Got a PM reply from VectorLabs. His initial ship time estimate was three weeks from date of order, but he got a ton of orders just before the deadline and said, "It will be another 10 days before I can ship to you. Sorry for the delay."

Just an FYI for anyone in the last batch still waiting on their kit.

Just got my kit today, installed it using that awesome YouTube video and...

"The Force will be with you" sounded out... and then...

BLACK SCREEN. If I go to test mode I get a high and low beeping pattern -- of course I don't know if the board test sounds even apply anymore once this kit is installed. I can see that the monitor is on, but hitting buttons only results in "Red 5 standing by" but nothing else.

So some sounds, nothing else.

My machine has been professionally restored and is in top notch shape, I am very frustrated.

Bad kit?

doubt it's a bad kit, sounds like a bad sound card. Take a look at the other videos the guy that made the install video has. He has a video dealing with sound issues on the Star Wars boards. I had two sets of Star Wars boards both with issues i followed his fix and now both of mine work.

good luck,

I highly doubt it. I've seen his work and he tests each kit before they ship. He is probably on kit number 100+ by now and I am pretty sure he has the build down. I've seen plenty of "professionally restored" cabinets that are nothing more than a good cleaning and testing. I would bet your sound card has issues and it wouldn't be a bad idea to follow the advice of the above post.

With that being said, there is always the chance a "bad" kit got out. You might want to double check your installation as well. Please report back and let us know what you find.

Best of luck

Wasn't aware there was a new kit out, and missed the cutoff. If these come out again or if someone has one to sell please pm me.

Ditto, I'll take one on the off-chance these get produced again (or there are extras, for-sales, etc)

SW/ESB Kit problem

Bad kit?

(Got this message from Sam detailing the resolution to his problem.)

Hey Mike,

I popped the yoke open and figured out what was wrong -- a bit of solder had come loose on the switch. A frustrating coincidence (why now??? haha!), but an easy fix. Late last night I was able to switch to Empire for the first time and it worked perfectly.

The initial problem, I believe, may have been that the vector board was slightly unseated from the edge connector at one end of the board set, but I'm still not 100% positive. Whatever the case, you have been a great help and I truly appreciate the hard work you put into the kit.

Thank you,
-Sam
