last arcade in chinatown ?

great article- thanks or sharing. That place looks sweet, and definitely has some of the old arcade luster I remember. My favorite arcades were ones that you were not sure if you would make it out of....alive, that is.

Next time I am in NYC I am going to chinatown fair and barcade for sure!

Never been (what with being a west coast person), but it's been a very well known place in the fighting game community for a while. I always see east coast people mentioning it. :p Cool to see it being re-discovered.

Wow.. I think I went there as a kid while visiting family in NYC.. probably mid 1980's. I definitely remember that chicken (unless there were other arcades in Chinatown that had poultry torture devices!).

Chinatown Fair stinks..... literally - no ventilation in there. It's a solid arcade though.

Barcade in Brooklyn is also great, and they're opening up a location in Jersey City very soon.

Someone mentioned on the message board that this place has been featured on LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT.

found this and thought it was interesting to pass along

Chinatown Fair has been the "last arcade" in Chinatown for many years. It's popular with the fighting game crowd.

I personally think that Barcade is much better as long as it isn't over-crowded.

we used to buy fireworks in chinatown ages ago
never heard of that arcade

we used to go to the 52nd street arcade after school

I remember seeing a similar game, but with a Parrot. I want to say it was at a campground in North Platte, NE. This was 15 years ago, and we did go through South Dakota on the way back east on that trip. At the time I just felt bad for the parrot, sitting in a game in a campground game room.

There is another Tic-Tac-Toe chicken machine in South Dakota at either Reptile Gardens http://www.reptilegardens.com/
or Bear Country U.S.A.

I can't remember which, but I have a photo somewhere of it.
