OK, my LAH is finally up and running. Its about 90% working, I have some switch adjustments to take care of, but I was wondering if someone could post a pic of the wiring of the switches for the slingshots. Mine seemed to have been hacked pretty bad and I can't determine how it should be done.

Also, how can I tell if the magnets are working. I can get the test going in the diagnostics, but not sure what they are supposed to be doing. Thanks!

Welcome to LAH ! Please stay awhile... I'll see if I can get those pics but may be awhile bcz my pc is literally dying. Don't think I can upload pics directly from my phone to klov. If anything ill upload to flickr and send you the link. Still kinda green with repairs but I think I can find the right part you're looking for.

Not sure if you cam test the magnets in test or not but you can see them work during multiball near the end or supercrane, the magnets will just move your ball path (haha) off sometimes to right or left drain or at least attempt to.

If the magnets are working properly they can sometimes give a good throw, but not to the extent that addams family does.

If I remember correctly you actually can test the magnets in the menu. BTW: If the magnet board is toast just order the new parts to rebuild it *maybe 10 bucks total* instead of paying the 30 most places want.

You can test the magnets in the diagnostics, and I get nothing. So I imagine I need to rebuild the board.

Also, sometimes when a ball ends up in the crane, its like the game forgets its there. It cycles through the coils after about a minute, the crane moves and drops the ball at that point. What should it be doing?

Thanks again for the help guys.

yep rebuild the magnet board as it's cheaper than buying another!

Crane: hit the 5 crane drop targets, crane swings over to the VUK ramp. shoot ball into VUK, VUK shoots the ball up, ball goes into crane, crane swings over, crane drops ball off into blue ramp.

I would make sure that the switch on the VUK ramp *the big yellow thingy* is registering when the crane hits it, make sure the ball stop coil on the crane is firing properly and holding the ball, and also make sure the switch on the left blue ramp is registering when the crane hits it.

Adjusted the crane and it seems to work perfectly, thanks guys! Now there are just a couple more switches to adjust/replace and the magnets and I am golden. Where do I get the magnet control board kit? Or should I just order everything separately from a place like great planes electronics? Thanks again.

still haven't forgot about you on the pics of the slingshots switches, i had a rough mothers day weekend and wife was out of town last weekend, i'll try to send you the link soon

No worries, I appreciate the help.

Another question I was just going to post...How can I test the shaker motor. There is no option to test it in the diagnostics? Thanks!

Their is no kit to rebuild that board. I think the pinrepair guide might have listed all of the parts to rebuild that board, but i don't remember to be honest... Either way I would replace everything on that board including removing the chips/installing sockets/putting new chips in.

The shaker fires up quite a bit on this game, but I don't remember seeing a test. I know that when the crane is moving that it's supposed to be shaking so I guess you could "play" a game and make the crane move to see if it's working.

Yeah, that's actually what I did, ordered everything I needed from Great Planes Electronics. I'm not sure how to troubleshoot the shaker motor, I know it doesn't work, I guess I can start with checking the board? Is there a fuse only for the shaker?

Also, still could use pics of the wiring for the sling shots. Just trying to figure out wtf went on. Thanks again!

Can't help with the pics or the shaker as mine was working... I guess I would check the wires going to it to make sure everything is plugged in and make sure it doesn't have a fuse somewhere.

Checked the shaker motor control board, and sure enough, the solder joint on the big resistor was cracked and not making contact. I re-flowed the solder and now it works...woohoo!

Now, just waiting on the stuff to rebuild the magnet board, and I have to figure out the sling shot wiring and I am golden!

Did you buy sockets for the chips to go in on the magnet board??

Also: If you look in the manual you should be able to track down the sling wire colors.

I bought a new IC, I have some new sockets, like the strips that I can cut to size. Hopefully that solves the problem.

As far as the wiring on the slingshots, the game was hacked up pretty bad, so it doesn't seem like the original wiring colors are there. I was hoping I can figure it out based on a picture, the schematics just aren't doing it.

If you still need pictures, post here again and I'll help you out if I can. I subscribed to this thread so I'll get a notice if you reply. Let me know in detail what you need pictures of and I'll snap as many as I can. Cheers.
