1.) Get the crane targets down, move crane, get ball onto crane, crane drops ball off in the ball lock section.
2.) Get crane targets down again, move crane, get ball onto crane, crane drops ball off, game kicks first ball onto playfield!

Any ideas why it is doing this or if it's actually supposed to??

Also: Anyone else have issues with the *2 scoop setup* right scoop switch not working? I adjust it, play a few games, and then the switch quits working. Adjust again, play a few games, and switch quits working! I know it's an adjustment issue, but I've adjusted this switch 5-6 times and can't make it stay in place so any ideas?

I told you this game is a mechanical pain in the ass dude. ;)
Never had a problem with right scoop - just replace the switch and be done with it (be sure to check that all 3 wire combinations are attached to the switch leads and the diode is present on that switch.)

Crane locks are flat out weird on this game. Depends on the mode that is started is when it drops balls back into play. However MOST of the time you should be able to lock 2. I would guess you've either got a wire/diode off one of the two switches or a switch is just bad.
While the game is in attract mode, press the switches down. Does it make the solenoid drop down?

I've had a metric shit ton of issues with mine, finally getting them worked out.

So you ever have a problem on M-Ball where you hit the jack pot and then super jackpot and eventually end up with the crane sitting there with 2 balls and then you have to wait for a ball search to happen?

Nope haven't had any issues with the ball search thing. Hopefully I will get a chance to check the switches on the blue ramp section this weekend.

I agree this game has been the biggest PITA to get working, but I've enjoyed the process for the most part and I really enjoy playing the game.

I got tired of mine it was always having problems.Sold it for $1000 and never looked back.Hope you have better luck with yours.

I play this game all of the time and haven't had any issues with it since I've fixed it other than these two and like Deadly said the multiball thing might actually be doing what its supposed to!

I'm going to completely replace the trough switch since it's not a wire/switch issue, but an activator *metal piece on switch* issue and I'm thinking it's just old and tired.

As for the MB switches in the blue section I'm hoping to see if maybe one is broke, bad diode, wire screwed up, or something.

I've had my LAH game for 6 years now, first pin I've owned and there has been some issues with it but it has been enjoyable both to play and work on. There is a lot of great things about this machine, and I think it deserves more lovin, lol.
I'm in the midst of trying to fix a problem with the crane not making it to both ends in gameplay (works fine going to both ends in diagnostic mode), but I'll get it fixed even if it means buying a new crane assembly for $100., well worth it.

Me and my friends have had a ton of fun with this machine, no regrets.

BTW, I have fixed my crane issues, it started working perfectly after replacing BR1 on my power supply board.

The game was also doing random restarts on me and replacing a couple burnt molex connectors fixed that right up too. I'm just rebuilding the magnet board and this machine is working 100% again.

LAH does have it's issues but to this point it's 10-me, 0-Arnie. It is a fun game that's worth the effort, I just hope the only other work I have to do will be stripping the playfield and cleaning it up.
