At first the targets were dropping fast like they're supposed to, but the assembly was having issues pushing the targets back up. So I pulled the assembly apart last night, cleaned everything, replaced the sleeve, but still having issues! I used the right sleeve, but the plunger feels really tight inside the coil.

If I pull the plunger down *out of the coil* then the targets will drop like they're supposed to and it will push them back up like it should *with the PF up*, but struggles when the playfield is in the cab like it should be.

Any ideas?? The springs are hooked up like they should be btw.

Interesting. I'm putting mine back together and while testing other things I always noticed when booting the coil would fire but the drops weren't coming up. So I looked and it seemed the linkage was binding. Seemed to be some slop in the coil sleeve. I was going to change the sleeve and can't get the old one out. That fucker is stuck as can be. I got pissed off last night and quit working on it. I think I'm going to order a new coil, but after reading your post I'm not sure what's wrong.

I'm not sure why yours is acting different when the pf is down.

You sure the coil is good Gonzo? Almost sounds like the sleeve is melted.

My plunger isn't binding, but not clue what's going on.

i gently swipe the plunger with some sandpaper to get rid of any muck

is the plunger mushroomed at the end ? i hit that with a file to smooth that down

dont think you need a new coil. what does it OHM out at?
too much springs pressure on the target lift bar thing for the coil to overcome ? all the target needs is enough pressure to pull the target down when the ball hits it. it doesnt have to lift the titanic

diode on the coil test out good ?

Could you take a pic or two of the drop target assembly?

I had a similar issue with the 3-bank drop targets not resetting in my TFTC after I replaced the targets and it turns out there is an adjustment screw on the far left side of the assembly that controls the range of motion of the reset plate.

The reset plate was dropping too low, especially with the playfield down (working against gravity) and the plate would bind. Turning the adjustment screw solved this issue for me.

TFTC and LAH are both DE, so this may be the problem.
