Ok...

Monitor tested working 100%! its WG K4900..

anyway..

I plugged in LD-V1001 (japanese LD Player) and it runs with step down isolation 100V and i see the red light power on.

It doesnt play at all!.. I opened the Cover and I hit power off then on. I see cd moves like half around then stopped.

I decided to close and remove the base cover and i can see fan. I did same thing power off and on.. it moves half way too!! that s it..

3 days ago It was run on 115v and i saw the space ace player then somehow it shows STATIC picture then disconnected..

I researched and found out it s japanese and should runs 100V.. so i went to powerboard and found the jumper and switch from 115 to 100 V and still same result!!..

FUCKED UP PLAYER? or fixable or whats suggestion? Thanks in advance!!!

What is the history of this unit ? Did it work before ? Did you just get it ? I wonder if there is a Lazordisc sensor that thinks the drawer (?) is empty. Look for a switch, perhaps it got bent or tweeked when you moved it.

i saw in my own eye that space ace title show up on monitor and i played for like 2 mins.. then i turned off then after that doesnt show up anymore..

im thinking laserdisc player s not recogizing the disc is present.. wheres the switch should be located at?

i searched everywhere and noticed someting

u know the center mount where you put cd on.. the center rings in the middle of cd pops through the CD hole..

Theres black with Silver Ring.. I played with it and noticed Im able to press the thin black ring down...

i hold the ring down and powers up .. i can feel cd start moving again.. i looked on the top cover and i dont see anything to press those silver ring down? missing pieces?

ill try to find pic of it

i checked manual book and seem it looks that i do not missing any parts..

i moved laser eye to far right and hit power.. it does relocated to center and power red light is on..

if 120v really fry the player.. it wouldnt do any shit such as moving laser eye relocating or spin the disc for like 1/4 way???

it s something im missing here..

Do you think you harmed the Laser disc player when you applied 120V to it?

another question..

if i dont put any disc in player. screen should show something such as "Welcome to pioneer and please insert disc" or something? or just plain black?

The LD 1000 I am fixing now just remain black. Have you clean the optical? Those are old gas hene tube in those player they tend to get soft and fussy to focus after a while.
Focusing tube by hand really is a pain. I have one that tends to go in and out of focus with temperature change. It needs a another tube and other things since I think it was used for parts at one time.

im reading through all PDF manuals that DLP (dragons lair Project website) offers!.. i notcied something.. if i open player with no disc. I powers it on. Laser Eye should show red glare? cuz mine doesnt..

LMK. thanks

I would clean the optical and not with plastic ear cleaners. They have glue in them and if you use a solvent to clean them you would be putting glue on the optical lens.

From the static picture you mention before. I would look at the optical assemble and see if it is out of focus

If you read the guide, I think with a simple tweak you can get it back to playing condition

last night i went ahead and try to unaseemble and it take more than 20 screws to take apart and i still cant check the laser tube or whatever the mirror is inside the laser box....

question here.. it says jump 12 to ground?? i couldnt figure what to do this to enable laser to beam so i can test to see if it s in range at least!..

anybody can show me where wiring i shoudl hook up ??

thanks

Strip all wire ends. Look at the connector. You will see it is number at the top from 1 to 12 and at the bottom from 13 to 24. These are the Pin #'s of the connector. Solder a wire from pin #7 to Pin #17. Solder a wire from pin #2 to one end of a switch. Solder a wire from pin #24 to the end of the other side of the switch. The two wire that go to the switch go out of the back of the connector and attach to the switch. The other jumper wire just sits inside the housing. Push the connector together, so all the pieces click into place. Push the button into the back of the connector's housing. Tighten the screws on the back of the connector onto the switch. You can see a detailed picture of the boot switch

Cheap way..

On the back of the laser disc player, the pin #'s are in reverse. It reads at the top 1 to 12 from right to left and at the bottom 13 to 24 from right to Left.

Take two paper clips and bend them until they are even from end to end in a U or V type shape. Put one on pin #7 and #17, Then put the other one on pin #2 and #24 and hold for one full second.

Can you verify that the Space Ace LD is good in another LD player? They are susceptible to rot. Was there any snow on the brief bit of video you saw?
