Hey guys, the conversion card is out of stock for my dragon's lair to work with another disc player so that leaves me 2 choices, run daphne(which would require the scoreboard from Mark, j-pak, and some rewiring) or get my current player fixed. My original pioneer laserdisc player is loading the disc, spinning, and the play lights etc come on but then i never see clear video on my screen. It is black and white garble. After a minute it stops spinning and slides the disc out. THe guy i got it from thought it was the laser focus. Is this something i could clean or focus myself? Any laser guru's out there? thanks

Ok, first of all, something is wrong because the description you are saying does not sound like a pioneer ldv1000. A ldv1000 has a lid that opens (the disc doesn't slide out). If it is a ldv1000, its very possible that it just needs cleaned. The tech back then bounces the laser of a couple of mirrors and after thirty years, they usually are dirty. There are also two capacitors on the power supply that fail. Both of those fixes are easy as long as you are careful. I have fixed 3 players by doing the above cleaning and fixes.

Look on the player and find what exact model you are talking about then repost.

It's the model 7820 which is one of the originals for the game. It slides the disc sideways into the machine after it starts spinning so you see half stick out, half in.
