Laser Disc Game: "Crime Patrol 2: Drug Wars"

Never saw this one.

Looks like some 'Miami Vice' influence from the screen shots. :)

The putt putt in Columbus had one of those, they also had "shootout at old Tucsun from the same company.

I remember playing shootout but not crime control.

Yeah.. it's an ok game. I've played it before. Pretty much the same as their others. Looks like KLOV borrowed my pics. LOL!

American Laser Games released 9 laser disc games from 1990 thru 1995. I'm fairly certain the rarest of the 9 was Gallaghers Gallery. Towards the end of ALG's life, they changed the technology from a Sony laser disc player to a Panasonic 3DO system, which unfortunately extremely reduced the video quality. I think they re-released a few titles on that format and maybe a couple new titles on 3DO like "Shootout At Old Tuscon" and maybe one other.

Anyhow, you can find info and pics for all their games on my website at the links below.

Enjoy!

Crime Patrol
Crime Patrol II
Fast Draw Showdown
Gallaghers Gallery
Last Bounty Hunter
Mad Dog McCree
Mad Dog II
Space Pirates
Who Shot Johnny Rock

I stand corrected, the one I played was "Mad Dog McCree" not shootout.

I had the "Street" version, a 25" box of an upright with a mirror.
Having heard the attract dialog so many times, every word has
been involuntarily memorized!

Yeah.. I think they came in 25", 33" and 50" models. The 50" model is large enough to block out the sun.

Some more info. Games available for play on DVD/Blu-Ray players. I have played Dragon's Lair on the DVD player when it first came out and wasn't all that impressed. DVD remote is obviously not the same as using a joystick to play it. :)

EDIT: Will check it out DL/DL II/SA on the PS3 as Blu-Ray with the PS3 controller. Should be better than the DVD remote experience.

Well I could certainly understand a dvd remote not being a great control for Dragon's Lair; but I wonder how it is for all of the FMV light gun games? Maddog McCree is hilarious.

I grabbed all the American Laser Games from torrentz and usenet long ago. (Space Pirates was hard as hell to locate but I eventually found that one as well.) I think there's only one or two I hadn;t tracked down. They work well with ACT Labs guns. No it's not an invitation to PM me asking for a free download ;)

I have to say all of the games are super cheeesy - seriously cheesy.

Definitely - I just picked up Space Pirates on feebay for $5. While I love the cheese factor, I'm glad I didn't pay more than that!

I have all of these for pc as well and I've actually been working on project to include them into my mame cabinet. They use the act labs guns which I've tested and work great for these titles. I'm currently finishing the script work.

Here is a demo of what I have gotten so far for my hyperspin setup.. I've done 100% of the editing, artwork and scripting thus far.

Thanks for checking it out.. Let me know what you think

That looks fantastic. Great work. And, I haven't looked at Hyperspin before but it looks like a really good frontend.

That's really nice work my friend. I hope you make that a public release.

I can easily make it a public release with the exception of the game images needed for it to work correctly. I purchased all the game disks for 3 bucks each off an ebay site a while back. 7 titles I think.. so for like 25 bucks + shipping I got all that could be got..
