I know there is a pinball museum in Las Vegas - but does anyone know of a place to see classic arcade games? I am visiting the area this week and am interested in finding out.

Haven't been there in a while, but Circus Circus used to have a huge game room. According to their web site the video games are on the Midway level: "Also on the Midway is our pulse-pounding Arcade energizing players with 200 of today's most popular and yesterday's most classic games."

Game Works by the M&M store and New York New York has an arcade by the Roller Coaster.

Circus Circus and Gameworks have newer games. Circus Circus actually has two arcades -games around the amusement rides and then a full arcade elsewhere. The full arcade has a lot more stuff but other than the Multi-Kong it's newer games, not classics.

When I was there six months ago Gameworks still had a few of those wooden cabinets with old games in them including Asteroids and a few others. Not really very exciting. Gameworks has a special night time deal if you are going there, it's a lot better deal.

The POF is by far your best bet for older games. I think they used to have a Major Havoc conversion in there but it seems to be gone now.

Better off to go to the gun range and shoot a machine gun...or check out the women at Planet Hollywood Casino.

Echoing previous posts here - Tim's Pinball Hall of Fame is probably your best bet, with Gameworks on the strip as a distant second. The casino arcades are all new games save for the DK, Space Invaders, or Pac/Galaga multi's. New York New York's arcade is pretty decent size wise, but again, newer stuff.

Off-strip small arcades never seem to last more than a few months.

As for private collections, local collectors of the classics are few and far between here. I suspect most games are tucked away in storage (like mine). I really know of only three others locally who are into classic vids, but Vegas changes in a heartbeat.

I've pretty much given up on the casino arcades...not worth putting up with the tourists and traffic on the strip to play mostly newer titles. I've been going to the Pinball Hall of Fame every couple of weeks lately with my girlfriend. She's hooked on Medieval Madness and loves kicking my butt at it!...though I pay her back on the air hockey and chexx hockey tables. haha

Dude, you are going to Vegas. Don't worry about arcade games for a week. Booze, Gambling, and Hookers are your friend. ;)

I see the pinball museum has a game named "Sex Tester" in the arcade list. Thats gotta be a classic. Right? ;)

I went to Bally's and asked if they had any pinball machines in their game room.

They were like, "No - why would we?"

Indeed.
