You know the ones, Jurassic Park, Star Trek Voyager, etc. Has anyone converted a non-working/gutted one into a 2 person theatre room or a sweet all-inclusive console station? I sat in a non-working one this weekend and that was my first thought. If anyone has done this, post a pic.

Just make sure the cockpit is "roomy" enough for you two...

Great idea Phet, one of these monsters sitting on a hydraulic base for an extreme theatre effect would be a great idea. What machine am i gonna have to scrap next to make this happen?

I would say Jurassic Park or House of the Dead. I like the Jurassic Park cab the best. Don't get me wrong, seven of nine's nipple registers a 5 on the inappropriate boner scale, but the Jurassic theme park jeep look is pretty sweet, and, like a sore penis, hard to beat.

Several years ago a game came out for the origional Xbox called Steel Battalion, which was a mech simulation game with a 40-button controler and foot pedal setup. Only two games we're ever made that could use the controller, Steel Battalion and it's sequel, Line of Contact. A fanbase that was dedicated to making custom cockpints for it sprang up, this is an example of one of them.

Spike VERY COOL MAN!! I had the same thought when i got my steel batallion... I sold mine though along with the xbox... But i have to say very awsome man!!! The game does rule dont it?? I use to love playing the online version but the HACKING was getting annoying!!

I would refuse to put one of these to my lips, even if someone else bought the first round.

Hahahahaha!!!!

I second the Lets Go Jungle cockpit. We have a brand new one at my CEC and I always thought it had a comfortable theatrical feel to it. Surround sound, 60" HD screen, curtains, fans, it has it all!

I could see maybe using one of these things for a multi-game of some kind, but as a home theater it seems kinda useless. I think sitting on the couch would be a lot more comfortable than sitting inside a wooden box.

JPs are still making money so it might be more $$ than Voyager which in my opinion is a lousy game. Let's go Jungle was a cool cab but I'd bet it's less common than the other two.

spike, I think you're custom cab turned out pretty cool, if at all a bit simplistic. I've seen other people build dedicated cabs like this for that game. I was thinking of building my own cab like that for xwing vs tie fighter.
