My wife and I were in Lancaster PA and I noticed a place called Lancaster Silverball was in the area where we were. Google showed them as OPEN.

We get there and can't find a door to get in the place. We go to a nearby joint and ask where the pinball place is. The guy says "Oh uh, welluh, they only do PRIVATE parties."

Since all I wanted to do was play some pinball, and I'm not planning to book a private pinball party anytime soon, I have to give them 1 star. And no, I had not researched their site prior and read all of the fine print.

I googled them from the truck and they came up in a search result and it said OPEN- please see above where I said I did not look up their main website.

I know, at the end up the day I should have done a full research project before trying the place, so it's on me. Just dont understand why you'd have a place like that, in a city like that, and it be VIP/private only.

Those Google business hours they return in searches are notoriously shitty and untrustworthy.

I can't tell you how many times my girlfriend and I have gone to a restaurant or business after checking the hours on Google, and seeing they were open, only to drive 30 minutes and find they weren't, and had changed their hours.

I always check the website of a business now, at a minimum. But honestly you can't even trust those 100% of the time, because a lot of people don't give a shit about updating their websites anymore, since Facebook took over the internet. So usually a FB page is actually the best place to check, if they have one, and if you feel like wading through the cesspool to go there.
