I have a sharp image/kortek monitor from a showcase chassis identified as a KTM-F model. Here is what I have done so far:

1) no power, no picture. 120 volts are coming into the monitor.
2) checked the power supply, D901 and R604 and R605 for faults. All test fine
3) upon visual inspection, there is a burnt resistor by the flyback, R907. upon further inspection, R907 and R905 are soldered together, and there are some obvious 'hacks' to make up for burnt traces. Upon pulling the resistors, R907 tests fine (1kOhm) and R905 is open. D904 (connected in series) tests fine.

Upon looking up a schematic, (http://technical-department.servegame.com/monitor_schematic_diagrams/sharp_image_si134.jpg) I notice both of these resistors should be 47k ohm. I'm assuming I should replace with original parts, even though one of the resistors is obviously a 1kOhm resistor. The other looks to be under wattage (very small) anyway.

If anyone knows of a fix or why a 1kOhm was in place of a 47K ohm, I'd love to know. Otherwise, I'll pop in the two 47K's and let you know what happens.

Replaced the two resistors, fired it up, and still nothing.

I'm going to start looking around that circuit for problems later tonight.

Need to replace all the Electrolytics first.
The standup resistors in the primary of SMPS need to be reflowed
and any other poor connections.
Don't bend them if not straight,The Str Ic601 needs to be warm
if its working.
Do you have any volts on the cathodes of D605 and D607
if not, measure the Ohms using the HOT Heatsink for a ground.
If High ohms then you have no shorts on those supply lines.
If no B+ on d605 and d607 then measure the voltages on IC 601?
The fly could be bad,but you need the voltages to it first..
ANy voltages?
