I have a med res KTM-F 26 monitor. I'm trying to put it in my Konami Racing Jam machine. I made some wire harnesses, but the monitor just comes on solid green. Just like a big green light bulb.

The video input marking on the board is tricky.

Right above the input pins, it is marked

HS VS E R G B
HS VS E B G R

I know HS is horiz sync, VS is vert sync, and E is video ground?

What is the propper orientation for RGB?

Do I need to connect both horiz and vert sync?

HS = horizontal sync
VS = vertical sync
E = earth ground
B = Blue
G = Green
R = Red

As for the orientation of the RGB, post a pic of the connector, please.

Try turning your brightness or green down. Hopefully your green gun isn't shorted in the tube.

Whether all the sync is hooked up depends on the game. Not sure for that one...

Here is the monitor in action:

Here is the video input connector:

The screen is green like that no matter if the video input is plugged in or not. What causes that?

What happens when you turn both green pots all the way down?

Remove the green drive transistor. if it stays green, then you probably have a short in the green gun inside the tube. If it goes away, then something in your green circuit (maybe the drive transistor) from your video input all the way to the neck pin is bad.

I've even seen this with a bent pin on the neck shorting against another...

Thanks once again, Mod.

I am not good at removing parts and re-soldering, I let Chad at ArcadeCup do that stuff for me.

What do you think the chances are that this is something other than the tube? I hate to waste Chad's time if it's most likely a bad tube.

The monitor stays green if the video input connector is connected or not. Does this info help?

Nope. There are three big transistors on the neckboard. Take them all off if you can't figure out which is for the green. If the tube stays green, then it's the tube. If not, then it's the chassis....

I removed the green transister....still all green screen. I guess I have a dead tube.

Find someone close by who has one, or call a TV repair shop. They'll sometimes do it for a low fee...

I don't want to sound dumber than I am, but do most TV repair shops have rejuvenaters? Would they know what I meant if I asked?
