I was looking around in the back of my Rush 2049 and the only markings I can see on my monitor are a part number of kt-2914f and the tube is a Samsung. The monitor looks awesome with no issues most of the time but every once in a while the whole picture goes dark purple. You can still see the picture, its just all washed out in purple. At first I wasn't sure how to get it to go away but after messing with it I found if I wiggle the neck board around it'll usually go away. The board is seated tight and looks like its sitting like its supposed to. Any ideas on how to cure this problem for good? I hate having the back off the machine all the time to have access to the monitor.

Sounds like a Kortek model number. A quick googling confirms my suspicions.

Install some Korean fonts, then gorge yourself on this cornucopia of information:

That board layout looks eerily familiar... I need to compare it with the 3414DF in our PiU, see how close it is.

Purple... sounds like no green. Reflow the solder joints on the color driving transistors, there are three of them and 99.9% of the time they're on the neckboard, they should be TO-22s or a similar-sized package, attached to a heatsink, either each on their own or one big one for all three.

Yeah, when I did a search for the model it came up with Kortek as well, I've never seen anyone mention that brand before so thought maybe it could have been something different. I wasn't sure if its a replacement monitor, its the first one I've seen with the on screen menu to make adjustments in an arcade game. I've impressed with the picture, the whole color blinking out issue was my only problem. I'll check into the transistors and reflow the solder to see if the problem goes away. Thanks!

Thats a kortek monitor and i think 2049 was shipped with either kortek or wells. The kortek is a tri sync. Great monitor when it works.

Whoa whoa WAIT. The xx14s are tri-sync? I thought they were VGA only (which would make sense -- 2049 can run in either med res or VGA, it's a DIP switch settiing). If they really are tri-sync, I need to start collecting these bad boys...

I know that some 2049s shipped with a Wells 27D9204, which IS a tri-sync. Is that what you're thinking? I'm gonna pore over the xx14 manual to be sure.

-E- I'll be damned. 15k-40k horizontal, 50Hz-120Hz vertical. I want one of my own now.

?

For missing colors or intermittent
I find the standup 7 watt resistors loose connections to pcb
or the headers on the chassis may have hairline cracks in them.
