I am putting a Kozmik Krooz'r back together that was in pieces when I got it.

Got the cabinet fixed up, boards, etc.

Now, I need to figure out how the half-way mirror goes in there. I may have not gotten it when I got the cabinet, so I may have to have one made.

Does anybody have internal pictures of their KK, especially details of how the mirror mounts inside the cabinet. Any help would be appreciated.

Can't help you but damn, nice find there. I would love to have one of those. Was it pretty complete when you got it or have you slowly acquired all the parts?

I got the cabinet from some guy in Savannah, along with a working Wacko. It was a pair that I could not pass up.

Both cabinets had been in a flood, so the bottoms were weak, the KK cabinet sides were starting to separate, so I replaced the bottoms on both.

The Wacko was complete and working with a new Happ Vision Pro.

The KK had no monitor, and the board-set was in a suitcase. Finally installed a monitor and board-set in it recently. Played a bit funky, but worked. Installed an MCR-II switcher kit and played a lot better.

Here is my blog entry with some youtube video of before and after:

I don't have the step :(...
I will look out for the pics. Thanks.

contact Mylstar, pretty sure he has a minty one in his collection..

I have crushed a few mirrored games (asteroids deluxe, battlezone, space gun, enviro discs of tron, mazer blazer, space tactics, print club), so I might have a mirrior that would fit.. Probably not worth it when you factor in shipping, but you never know.

It's not real easy to see what's going on in these pics, but basically there is a 3/4" lip running around the inside of the cab. You can see it best in pic #4. The mirror rests on this lip and there are clamps on the right & left that hold the mirror to it. (Pics 3 & 4) Also the mirror isn't flat. It's molded more like the shape of the monitor tube.

I couldn't get to the front of the game today so all the pics are through the back door. If you think front pics will help I can grab you some, but not today. Also if you want bigger copies of these PM me with your email & I can send the full size ones.

I've never played Wacko, but I always thought it would be cool to have them side by side. Good score there. Hmm... I wonder if the Wacko is as heavy as this. It has to be one of the heaviest games I've ever owned.

Let me know if you need more photos or anything else. Good luck with it!

Steve

zfcamaro: Do you still have your KK? I remember that was a sweet machine, but I don't see it in you game room pics or on your site.

I said it was in Maryland but I didn't say it was me that owned it ;) A buddy of mine picked it up. After enough pestering he's going to sell it to me eventually :)

So according to the pictures, the mirror bulges out towards the rear, is that correct?

I will try that tonight since I did get the molded part with the cabinet. I thought it was just a cover that went over the monitor.

Thanks again for the pics.

Bumping this old thread.

Somehow I ended up with this game here in Colorado and had a friend restore it:

AWESOME pick-up! Do you have the step that goes with it?

For the record if your spinner ever gets wonky, Riptors replacement tron optic board works perfectly for KK. (or discs of tron for that matter as well)

kk

I had kk and crater raider. both really huge cabs. kk is pretty cool, but mine was always breaking (crater raider always worked great).I finally fixed it and traded both with some other games for a metallica le pinball. I would love to have a kk someday, just the one I had was hexed! I love the spaceship toy effect.

The KK doesnt work yet. But ill fix it when I pick it up this weekend.

Glad I picked this up, it was going to be parted out!

bumping this old thread....I am currently working on a Kozmik Krooz'r and I'm missing a few parts.....from the manual
1. Part # 0639-00901-0000 , Description- Curved glass mirror
2. Part # 0639-00905-0000 , Description- Deep Space Scenery

Thanks to Tron Guy, Joeycuda, Aztecf, Doc Mack and few others I was able to source a lot of missing parts. I have the game up and running but still missing the curved glass mirror and space scenery. So if anyone has these parts for sale please let me know. I am now turning my attention to the cabinet and was curious if anyone knows the paint code for the blue sides? Thanks Alan
