This is a FYI if anybody wants to install a new after market Kortek monitor in a older game.
In this instance I did the install in a kong 2 cab with all the new DK2 paint, art ect.
So I got a Imperial Kortek monitor and chassis from Arcadeshop and also got the sound board adapter and power supply for DK from them. I was skeptical this would all work but in the end it all did so im happy. Monitor was $199, sound board adapter with harness and power supply was $99. You cant use the chassis that comes with the tube so the tube and board need to be removed and installed into a Sanyo EZ 20 chassis. I found out the hard way! Any way I had a old frame sitting around and the tube and board swap was easy, all the bolt holes lined up and it went right in. I did drill 2 small holes to mount the board to the frame. Next hooked up the jamma/kong adapter with sound board on it (it comes prewired) hooked up the 2 power leads and ground to my stock nintendo P/S and BAM, it worked perfect! Monitor comes with the monitor adjustments mounted to a harness that can be mounted to the side of the cab for easy adjustments. Im glad this all worked out as Sanyo monitors are getting hard to find. Sound works and all the kong sound hummmm goes away.

pic 1 shows the remote mounted monitor adjustment board, R, B, size ect.
pic 2 shows how I mounted the board inside the frame, I moved the rails outward at bottom to make more room, used existing scews and holes.
pic 3 is new monitor up and running.
pic 4 just a side view of fresh dk2 dark blue cab and side art.
pic 5 shows power supply, harness and sound board/adapter. the board also has adjustments and sound adjustments built in.

I think the 19" kortek and stock frame would mount up in any horizontal games without mods.

Thats pretty cool. I always wondered how you could get sound on a kong without the stock monitor. That DK2 paint and artwork look pretty sweet as well.

call arcade shop, thats where I got my kortec, it came as a complete chassis, with tube and boards for $200. Dont know if you can just get the parts seperate.

I think it would have been easier and cheaper to just throw a jamma harness and adapter in there.
The switcher is already in there.
You wouldn't even need the audio board stuff.
