Kortek Monitor Help - Only Half of the Screen Flickers?
Hey everyone. I have an unknown model Kortek monitor in my Neo-Geo cabinet that seems to be suffering from some strange phenomenon. For some reason, only the left side of the screen appears to be flickering - shaking and waving varily although the image is still visible. This problem does not occur on the right side of the screen.
The problem became worse when I did my research and found that there is little to no documentation on this particular Kortek model whatsoever. The model number must have fallen off or been removed and is not written anywhere on the monitor. In all my searching, I've found only one member who had this same monitor, purely by coincidence, and he in frustration gave up trying to fix it and tossed it. This is the only monitor chassis I've ever seen that had a fan over the flyback - and yes, I believe it is supposed to be there.
The tube itself seems to be fine, colors are nice and bright everything seems good to go, so I'd hate to throw the whole monitor out. I may end up getting a new monitor to replace another WG K7000 that has quite a lot of burn in on it, and although I've never done this before, perhaps I could swap the chassis? I'd love to repair the Kortek chassis that's in there now, but I don't believe I'll ever find the parts for it.
What do you guys think I should do?
