Never worked on one before. This monitor is too bright. Can't see game picture as screen looks white with retrace lines. Tried adjusting brite, contrast and screen voltage and no difference. I ordered a cap kit and pulled the monitor out of the cab. Any ideas?

Well, I finally pulled the chassis from the monitor. I think its gotta be toast. 3 caps vented, 2 diodes(?) smoked, board trace burnt going to the flyback. The tube is in ok shape. Anyone know if anyone makes a replacement chassis for ktn-2001?

Sounds repairable.

really? I would think the smoked trace going to the flyback would mean its blown. Is there a replacement flyback for it?

here are pics. Trying to ID the burnt diodes. I think the one on the neckboard is 501. Its right next to 502. schematic says its 502 is fr105

not sure which is the burnt one on the main board closest one is d704 which says its fr157. Its right next to cap c708 which is vented. I guess that means its d705.

Here is the schematic for it:

These monitors can be a pain. I have one in my pinball 2k, and its horizontal width is too wide. Unfortunately, there's no horizontal width coil, just a little pot that does absolutely nothing. I would LOVE to have a replacement chassis for it, but haven't really looked into it a ton. I just hate that the targets don't line up quite right for the pinball.

that sucks. my P2k has the other one. I think its 7302. I found that print club 2 had the same monitor, so I saved 1 of them as backup.

I just wanted to post a follow-up to my post earlier, even though this wasn't my thread. I bought a cap-kit from Bob Roberts and it completely solved the issue. The horizontal width is back to normal, and adjustable by the pot. My pin2k looks and works awesome now!
