so my Pump GX is finally home and the repair process has begun. I'm gonna be ripping this monitor out to use for something else, and repairing it then (some months down the line), but I thought I'd field some thoughts.
It's a Kortek KT-3414DF, which is a 2914DF factory-modified to use a 34" tube. The 2914 schematic is an exact match save for the values of ~12 components.
Monitor responds to power with a sharp snap, and you can hear HV crackle after you remove power. Neck glow is present. However, nothing appears on screen. I know this chassis is supposed to produce a "NO SIGNAL" test screen when it's not hooked up to a video source, but I'm not even getting that.
Any guesses?
-E- It just dawned on me... these monitors are known to do this (HV, glow, no raster) if they are or have recently been in a very cold environment (weak heater?), and this monitor certainly was colder than I wanted it to be. I'll try it again after it warms up.
