I had a kortek monitor given to me a while back that originally was blowning fuse f601, I found a bad bridge rectifier and also f601 had opened from .47 ohm to 89k replaced these now I finally have b+ but I'm not sure what it should be set at, I've been using Kens repair guide and I dont see the b+ listed in either that or the imperial monitor manual. thx

Looking at the schematic, I would wager a guess that if you didn't replace anything in the power supply section past the rectifier, B+ should already be "close enough". What's the current symptom?

Right now there is no hv, the power supply is putting out 165 vdc I belive that iI read somewhere that is normal when the hv isnt working not sure if that is correct. the 2 fuses are not blowing and the hot doesnt seem to be shorting if I am tersting it correctly.I replaced all the caps including the b filter. so I'm still looking for cold joints I dont think there is a way to check the flyback without a ring tester.

Well I 've done some more testing seems that r612 has opened to 2.9 meg ohms so it looks like from Kens guide that there is somthing wrong in the horizonal output circuit since the hot doesn't look shorted I'm leaning to the flyback.

The flybacks in the Kortek monitors are a high failure item just like with Wells-Gardner K7000 flybacks.

Sometimes on the Kortek monitors you will find the flyback has been arcing to the metal cage near the focus knob. I usually carve the hole in the cage larger by about a quarter of an inch so arcing will be less likely to happen.

Hi Ken I got around to pulling the flyback today an looked at the numbers on it and it seems to have a part # of KFS-60737 that I see Bob carriers from his web page, but I see on your repair guide you list the KFS-60291 not sure if some of the same models may been made with one or the other or if someone may have previously change it with the wrong part. I'm not sure what may have been done to this monitor as it was given to me not working. thx
