First, let me say thanks to all of you that post and reply. You guys are awesome and I appreciate it.

Now, this is a K1-2-VO chassis that was attached to a 25-inch monitor in a NEO-GEO cabinet. I can't find any other identifying markings to get a cap kit and am just wondering if anyone knows what this board is. Bob Roberts has a cap kit for a Kortek 25 inch, but that board looks a little different than this one. Similar though, but not the same.

Any help is appreciated. Really! Otherwise, I'll make my own list and get them, but getting a kit would be nice.

Thanks!

Kortek KTX26 (110v version)

Do you have the little daughter board with all the adjustment pots on it that plugs in or the remote board with a cable ?

Tell me a few of the cap values and locations.....I'll see if I have a match. It kinda looks like a Korean A-1, T & E, or a couple of the Orion's I've seen. Is there any etchings/markings on the back side of the circuit board?

It's the most like

The one that Kevin posted a pic about. It looks like his is a slightly more updated version of mine.

Another question (imagine that!) - The giant Cap in the upper right corner has a bulge in the top, but it's such a clean bulge that I'm thinking it's ok and "supposed to be there". Is it? I could replace that one too, but usually, the monster caps like that aren't in cap kits.

Also, there are no identifying marks on the bottom. The only thing I had to go on was the K1-2-VO.

I'll get some of the values of some of the caps posted. I had one that was bulging and that's 33uF 160V.

Thanks again for all your help!

If it's bulging, replace it. If you peel the vinyl wrapper off it, you'd probably have the top ruptured....and maybe goo coming out.

Yeah, post a handful of caps/locations......a la...33µf160V @ C101

Give me a handful and I'll check my oddball/no name Korean lists.

Strange Chassis

I have the same chassis attached to a 25" Zenith tube. Couldn't ID it so I sent pics to Bob Roberts. Here is what he had to say:

(start quote)
.....I just spent the
last 45 minutes going thru every Korean chassis that I have on file & on the
very last one alphabetically I believe I found what you have. I tried to
find pics or anything on it to be 100% sure, but I couldn't find anything
other than my cap info. I'm going to put the info in here & if you agree
that it is what I think it is, then the complete cap kit for is only $8 & I
think you'd be better off just getting it & having spare caps.

It was a chassis made for Sharp Image as far as caps/positions go...

Now what I found is that there would be 3 caps left over. (415, 420, & 423)

I have a similar Kortek/Sum-20c chasis that also has a bad bulging filter capacitor. Those have a plastic top with no scoring for pressure release, but certainly if yours is bulging, replace it!
