Gentlemen,

I want to clarify something that I am confused on. The Kortek K1-2-VO chassis.
I have 7 of these monitors. All are 25". I am specifying this because there are several threads on here that refer to this chassis as a 19" and I am not sure if they made them 19" chassis as well, or if that is a mistake. I want to do capkits on all of them. Moddesitt says in this thread……….

http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=120064&highlight=kt-2001sf

………………….that the K1-2-VO and KT-2001sf are one in the same. However, Bob Roberts' Monitor ID page has the K1-2-VO as the KTA-915.

What are your thoughts?
Thanks in advance.

That K1-2-VO is also on the Penn-Ray (Kortek) KT-510A which I just posted the manual for.

I've only seen the K1-2-VO on 19" Kortek known also as the KT-1420A.

I have a Happ 19" monitor I bought new from Happ around 2000 and the board has K1-2-VO and SUM on it. The monitor had very little use and it had a HV transformer meltdown.
I hope you don't need a HV transformer for one because I could only find them at one place and they had to order it from the flyback manufacturer and with a price increase after I placed the order it cost me a total of $141.90. I still haven't installed it yet but it's on my to do list.
Turns out the monitor is a Kortek KT-1420A and with some parts changes is basically the same as monitors sold by Happ,Imperial,Tekbilt,Wico and a few more.

I also say in some other thread that K1-2-V0 is now recognized as a generic marking for several different Kortek models, and is not indicative of the actual model you have.

If you don't know for sure, post pics of your chassis and we'll see what we can determine...

I have that chassis in a 19" version in my Neo Geo Dynamo cab. I managed to fix a pinhole that developed in the flyback that was arcing to the flyback cage. It's on borrowed time, I'm sure. But for now it's holding.

After. All sealed up again.

Right on. I did not come across that post during my search but it being a generic marking makes things much clearer now. Here is a picture of one of my chassis.

Edit: I bet it was this one?

Yeah, I am trying to find replacement parts and outside of capkits, it is not looking very promising...........

Do yourself a big favor, temporaily remove the flyback cage and take a hacksaw to the opening when the knobs would be. Enlarge that opening by a half inch all the way around the opening. That will reduce the chance of the flyback arcing. Plus the flyback will run cooler thus prolonging it's life. I do that on all Korteks of that vintage now.

Ken,
Do you know of a source for replacement parts on these Korteks? I am particularly interested in KTX-26, obviously. :) Thanks

P.S. I have checked casinotech, suzohapp, patriotgaming, industrialelectronicsrepairs, and amusementsplus.

Betson might still have some Kortek parts. Otherwise you might have to go direct to the Kortek factory in Korea.

Thanks Ken, I greatly appreciate it. I will update this thread with what I find for future references. Take care sir.

If you can find flybacks that would be awesome !

I have two 19 inch chassis's and a 25" inch .

They have the flybacks in china . I found places you could order them but you had to buy bulk , like 1,000 . I wish an online arcade parts site would order and stock these .

I have a 25" thats untested if you interested . I don't have a 25" inch monitor . I think its missing the mini adjustment board .

I appreciate the offer sir. I will keep you in mind but for right now I have to try and get these working. :D

I now have pictures of the flyback cage before and after carving away about a 1/4" all the way around the controls opening.

This mod allows more airflow around the flyback and it is less likely to arc to the frame.
