Got a new game that said the monitor didn't work. After checking it over it looks like some resistors where burned. I've looked over the manual from Mikes Arcade, but I can't find what resistor goes at R161. Anyone know? For a 19" chassis.

There were quite a few Kortek monitor chassis types. Do you happen to know which specific model you have?

k1-2-vo, is what i got off the chassis. Does that help any? if not let me know and i'll look around some more.

Can you post a pic of the chassis? Apparently the K1-2-VO was also made for Sharp Image, and the schematic may be listed under the SI model number...

don't have a pic yet, but it looks just like the one on Mikes arcade for the kortek/imperial manual.

Except that the Imperial doesn't have an R161, so it may look like it, but is probably a slightly different model...

Hope this helps.

Looks like a Kortek KT-1420A. If you remove or loosen the metal band around the circuit board, on the foil side near transistors Q101 and Q102, "KT-1420A" should be silkscreened in the foil thus identifying it.

This manual shows R161 on the schematic, but does not show it's value on the schematic. Neither does the parts list:

This manual shows R161 on both the schematic and the parts list as 22k 1/4 watt:

I've often had to use both of the above manuals to repair Kortek KT-1420A monitors.

If you do have a KT-1420A, I have written a copyrighted repair guide for that model. We had several of these monitors on our route and they were pretty reliable.
