Ok so for the past three weeks or so I have been trying to get my Neo Geo "2 slot model" monitor to come back to life. I originally thought it was a standard WG7000. Well I was way wrong. I tried and tried to pin this thing down, and I have found out that I'm on a Kortek Chassis. I believe that this is part of the 915 series. The chassis had a fuse that was rated at 3A 250V. I was able to go track down some new fuses, but they pop as soon as I turn the machine on. Has anyone else run into this issue or have an idea of where to start?

Check for shorted horizontal output transistor and shorted B+ regulator transistor. Those are common failures on Kortek chassis.

Ok so I was testing the yoke of my 25" monitor to ensure that its still working. I'm getting a 7.5 vertical and a 1 horizontal. I'm still pretty new at the whole monitor repair side and I want to make sure it goes right. I'm hoping to find some help in either getting a new chassis for my monitor or if someone works on them. Anyone???

I tried ordering from Alva Amusements once - emailed and asked about the chassis I wanted, then called them on the phone and placed the order. Gave them my credit card information, address and phone number. That was over two months ago. I still have no chassis. They also didn't charge my credit card, so I guess I can't complain.

In any event, they didn't seem too "with it" on the phone.

I have no idea what the quality on the replacement chassis are, since my one try at ordering one didn't "take", and I haven't bothered to try again.

Might be better off just fixing yours. Sounds like a blown horizontal output transistor, or something in the LV power supply that's shorted.

I would love to get my Kortek fixed, but when it costs 140 bucks its almost easier to get a brand new one for 76 to 120. All I really want is a working monitor again though so I can play my system you know.
