For those of you guys/gals that made it out to Denver, CO you know EXACTLY what I'm talking about......WHAT A GREAT TIME! Hanging out with some of my best arcade buds from Michigan.....meeting many folks for the first time I have been chatting with for years....and witnessing in my opinion THE GREATEST arcade gaming competition that has ever been staged! Richie, Jourdan, Jon and the rest of the Crew made one hell of a weekend for gamers, fans and people just wanting to have some serious FUN!
I thought I would share some pictures and hope some additional folks will chime in with theirs from this past weekend....along with some of the stories that we will be talking about for quite some time.
The 'Michigan Mafia' along with the great California producer of the Video Craze and friend of ours - Dave Danzara! From left to right - Scott Zeiser (Stardust Arcade/Executive Producer of the Video Craze) / Dave Danzara (he is famous - no explanation needed!) / Me (Alan Radue - Tranquility Base Arcade) / Zach Green ('The Cleaner'!) / Bill Johnson (Chomping Quarters). Scott actually made the entire Mafia crew custom embroidered shirts (Zach has one on) with a Michigan Mafia logo on the back - THEY ROCK!
Jourdan had a full sized poster of Sprint 2 hung up at the 1-Up! Picture time with the current record holder, the founder of Twin Galaxies and the 2/3 of the new owners of TG. The torch has been passed! (Me/Richie/Walt/Jourdan). Richie pulled out the smile as he knew this picture was for me....love ya brotha!
The players attack the games early Saturday morning after running in like the start of the Superbowl! Game on!!! I believe I had a beer in hand well before noon?! The 1-Up was JAMMED with reporters and film crews the entire time!
I have stood inside a yellow Computer Space and many of you have not! (Compliments of Steve MacDonald)
Presented to me in the front office of the new Twin Galaxies - what an HONOR!!!
O.k.....post them if you got some shots from the weekend! These guys pulled off an EPIC event! Jourdan is as nice and genuine as they come.....each of the players were so gracious and signed tons of stuff for me.....meeting Walter will change your life (I'm not kidding!). I encourage everyone to hit an event like this! I'm reserving my tickets now for Kong Off 3 - Kong Off 50 -> GAME ON!!!
