anyone that promotes himself in a Ref outfit that ain't actually promoting a legit sport...

I like the ref shirt. Always thought it was cool. Politics of recent events aside, overall, I really like Walter. Never met him, but it seems like he has a love of the games and started something cool way back in the day.

Unfortunately, as with any group that involves people, stupid shit is bound to happen from time to time. It's in our nature.

Everything will work itself out in time. In the big picture, none of this stuff means anything. It's all just a bunch of trivialities.

I was in the "don't care" group until yesterday. The TG livestream was intriguing and I enjoy a good detective story. So now I'm interested to see the outcome.

I, for one, hope that Billy and company will offer a sincere mea culpa. Everyone makes mistakes. I've know I've made my share. It's not the mistakes we make that define us, it's how we deal with them that matters.

Oh, so very this. It's basically the daily lesson, or recitation at least, I try to impart to my sons.

A twenty year lie and coordinated campaign to destroy anyone who challenges you isn't a mistake.

For the record, I was speaking about life in general, not the Saga of Helmet Hair & Stripey.

I will forgive most things once someone owns up to it, especially if the item in question hasn't caused any real, lasting harm. He just needs to come completely clean. Just my opinion of course.

Edit- who had he tried to destroy? Maybe I don't know the whole story.

Quite right. The smear campaign against Steve Wiebe by Mitchell, Mruczek, Day and other TG people showed the world how TG was (at best) populated by a bunch of man-childs. To quote a friend of mine about this: "I'm all for forgiving people but not when they literally profit from their bullshit for years - that kinda needs an apology."

Luckily I was blissfully not around that creepy @$$ weird era of behavior. the little things to be thankful for. Walter and friends have done some really questionable $#!+ and dear old Mr Day would be the first in line to not be apologetic about any of it.

Going back to earlier talk. It should be pointed out that my use of the word forgiveness is in this context.

Forgiveness is something you give yourself, not the person you are forgiving per se. It releases you from owning their problems, it lets you walk away from the strangle hold of anger. the guys who have gone through messy divorces know the value in forgiveness....or the value of a good shovel and a remote location.....it's a life choice for happy vs spiteful existence.

Mercy is something you give the other person. like in a fight, you show mercy by not finishing them off. Think of Mortal Kombat....finish him! finish him! Mercy is when you don't.

I think people get mixed up thinking forgiveness is something that comes with an expectation. You conditionally will choose a certain emotion if the other person does something acceptable to your desire. you guys are old enough to know you can't control anyone on this planet other than yourself, and young children....and maybe a pet dog.

ol Frizz is the closest to showing a version of forgiveness. He is just doing it more bluntly by saying who gives a rats @$$ or a flying F@#k. that is effectively releasing him from having to own feelings about the other groups behaviors or actions.

psychology is fun isn't it. winky wink wink.

I think the most obvious person is Steve Wiebe.

@1500points
Didn't we just go over this same ground not 2 months ago, with another egocentric, habitual liar?

Yeah. Same comments apply, only the names have changed. Again, asking people here to forgive them when they've shown no signs of ever admitting any wrongdoing is foolish on your part. You're preaching to the wrong choir, because any forgiveness (whatever definition you want to use) on our part doesn't apply. This isn't a case where a drunk driver killed a loved one, whereby forgiving them is a way to cope with what happened. This is a case of an a-hole bragging about accomplishments they never accomplished, and coercing people into supporting them or staying silent about it (and if you've followed the dispute thread on TG about Mitchell, you'd know 'team Mitchell' has been cooking up one pathetic excuse after another. Mitchell starting by blaming a former friend, Dwayne Richard, and recently blamed one of his co-conspirators, Richard Childs). So you might want to preach to Mitchell for a while...

I know the story a little bit but not enough to make a solid statement like "take em to court!" but I think SW could lawyer up and go after those people involved as well as TG for fraud, slander among other things. Is it possible SW lost financial opportunities, extended notoriety as well as damage to his name because of these actions?
