Watched an hour or so last night, man these guys are good. Totally different styles too. Can't wait until the streams come back up.

[edit]Just realized it's over. :( Guess I'll have to watch the recording...

I watched Doc throw up a mid 800k score yesterday via the link above that showed both feeds. Very impressive playing over 800k with a jumpman in reserve to boot. BM had a lower 600k score going at the same time before his game ended. I find it entertaining to watch.

Billy Mitchell hasn't been putting on the banner showing I was expecting.

Probably because TG is preparing to digitally tar-and-feather him by the end of the month.

AFAIK the 'final 4' are getting ready to start playing. The Twitch channel is streaming live.

How awkward for everyone there, honestly. Especially after the drunken fueled Richie knuckles appearance in the East side Dave show.

Kong Off 6?... LAAAAME.

Where's the SINISTAR competition!?

"Where can I point-press? What do you mean I can't?!? How do I get easy points!?"

"RRRAAAAWWRRRR!!!"

"Nooooo!" *SMASSSSSSHHHH* ... "I am Sinistar!"

You can point press Sinistar. It's not entirely trivial as the warrior ships get ornery eventually. On the first screen, locate where the sinistar is being built via your radar (IIRC it's the yellow dot). Go to that location and it will be empty, if you hang around long enough, you'll see worker ships start to carry crystals there to build him piece by piece.

You can max out your sinibomb storage and then release them one at a time to force them to start to rebuild sinistar repeatedly. You cannot continue indefinitely as the warriors start to speed up and fire more often at you eventually. You should be able to get somewhere near 100k or so before it gets out of hand.

One thing you'll notice is that if you have sinistar being built on your screen (instead of off-screen/on radar) they build him much more slowly. So if you want to delay him being built, get him on screen, if you want to speed up the process, get him off screen.

Sorry for derail. Congrats to all the Kong Off competitors and to Eric and Robbie for making the finals. Was a lot of fun to follow via stream.

Cheers

Steve

Don't feel bad, yesterday was our "grocery shopping" day.... so I missed it, too. I'll have to find out where I can watch the recorded footage. I found it real neat to watch the different players pulling off stuff like that.

There is better footage or Robbie playing on you tube etc when hes trying to break the world record.

He looked like he was coasting yesterday since he knew he would win.

The real crazy shit is when he is point pressing trying to get a record.. wasnt really doing much of that yesterday.

In fairness, while I agree full point pressing is much more entertaining, I think it plays out as much better viewing as a recording than a live contest. 10 restarts or something, after playing 5 minutes each time is not aesthetically pleasing to view live typically IMO. Tuning in later into a game on pace for a big score is really great, however.

Steve Wiebe kill screened on the second game he played there. I was excited for him watching it then went back to the parking lot to drink beer.

That sounds like a good time. Now if only you had the hot razor blade decal scrapers to sword fight with out there....

It's pretty funny that people get hostile when defending Billy, as if we cheated and lied for him or something.

The guy barely had any credibility for DK before he was exposed as using MAME and possibly save states to fake scores. Now it's even worse. Them's just facts, no need to get angry at the people who either point them out or hold him up to them.

And yes, I've met him and watched him play also. KoK was a great film and a good time with lots of made up drama (and scores) and I'll always appreciate him for doing that. I also bought some of his hot sauce from him personally at a KoK and that stuff is damn delicious. But i have 0 confidence in any DK score with his name attached to it.

IMO, he should be remembered for Pacman over DK anyway, those scores, as far as we know, were legit and much more impressive at the time.

And as for Richie, that is a good dude who has been through a lot of bad shit. It's nice to see him having a good time and he BUSTS HIS ASS to run these competitions. I know Billy is a good friend of his and all of this probably sucks for both of them. I wish no ill will on either, i just dont' trust a billy DK score I don't see him do live

He would have been remembered for Pac-Man (and that probably would have been enough for anyone else), but now he'll forever be known as a cheater. And considering Walter Day's involvement with personally 'fast-tracking' Mitchell's scores, we have to wonder how legit Mitchell's accomplishment with having the first recognized Pac-Man score is. The effort involved to submit those fake DK scores should rightly call every one of his scores into question, which is why TG should pull every one of them down.

Then you throw in the allegation of financial support from BM to WD....and.....SCANDAL
