I spent some time this weekend and yesterday learning about the Konami Viper system.

Which is secret code for I wasted a shitton of time trying to figure out why TF this thing wouldnt work with the RTC fix I had done.

I got it up and running once I learned how to properly program the RTC.
Board is beautifully clean and ready for a new home.

Currently running JAPANESE (see note on wasted time) version, which if you dont know or see my snark, is NOT the USA version that I tried force feeding to the RTC for hours on end until I saw someone wrote a U that may have been a J in blue pen on the CF card. Used Japanese RTC file with some black magic and she came to life.

Minimal testing done. I know you are able to flash RTC and new CF cards to convert this to other titles also. Havent spent any time trying.

This may be a little too new for here, but thought I would list her first, if not, I will send over to AracadeProjects peeps who like messing with the newer stuff a bit more and like swapping games etc.

Sidenote, I also have a second Viper system that wont boot but looks intact that I would sell if needed (just board, no cage).

Always willing to trade, am interested in bulk, intact, non-working boards that have not been screwed with, ass, gas or grass.

Let me know if interested.

Pics to follow

Pics show my rigjob battery fix on RTC, board will include working Dallas instead so I can keep that one for other testing I do.

This setup does not come with a heatsink or fan from factory, but I was toying with putting something on there. that is oil from my finger in the PIC, it gets pretty hot so I think at least a heatsink will be in order if I keep it.

Also note for those wondering, the proper way to program the rtc for this game is to program it but don't verify. If you verify in a a reader it may stick that IC is a weird reset loop type scenario. So you program it with no verify. Put in the game. It will fail rtc since clock is wrong. Reboot and rtc should pass.
