Does anyone have the break down on what konami sound chips go to what games? For example an x men sound hip can be swapped with a xexex sound chip and a run and gun or lethal enforcer sound chip can be swapped between each other.

I found a way to remove unrepairable hybrid sound chips and swap them with (like) sound chips. I have been having great success so far and have revived a few G.I. Joe boards and xmen boards with broken ones........That being said I want to buy any joe pcb or xmen pcb that have problems if the price is right. Thanks for any help guys.

I'm in cincy as well been to your arcade couple times... Do you have any interest in repairing boards/swapping chips locally for a fee?

Unrepairable HSC?

Look here : http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=152061

I've removed the HSC from a spare Lethal Enforcers to replace one that was cracked on a Martial Champions, it was kind of a pain. Why would you want to kill a different board when you can just follow the tips in the above mentioned thread and save both PCBs?

I've replaced the caps on well over a dozen HSCs, swapping chips isn't neccesary unless the ceramic is cracked in a way that breaks the traces.

Brian.

PS. That thread has the answer to your question as to which chips are used on what Konami boards.

Thats what I was referring to, some chips even with the cap kit done to them were not reparable. I have come across a few that were not mainly the xmen and joe chips get it the worse. Also If you read the whole thread I was referring to already dead konami boards that had salvageable sound chips. Thanks for the break down on chip swaps
