I am working on repairing a rough PCB marked as Konami Jungler, very similar to Locomotion but with some extra chips added in spots that are empty on Locomotion. I suspect I am working on an attempted Locomotion to Jungler PCB conversion.

The game boots with sounds but all the graphics are just large blocks or sparkly lines. I can coin up and play it basically blind. My CPU board has lots of bodge wires on both the top and bottom, with many chips having cut pins here and there. I was wondering if anyone could get close up pics of the top and bottom of the CPU board to confirm the bodge wires and cut pins are factory original mods?

The board originally was dead as a doornail, no reset signal to the CPU. I traced it down to a corroded trace underneath an LS138 at 1B that wasn't sending the HSYNC signal where it needed to go, which feeds all the V Signals that generate VBLANK that in turn generates the RESET signal. Now it has life but I can't get any sprites, characters, or background tiles to show up, just chunky blocks. All roms test good, all 6116/2128 ram tests good, all D2125 ram are all new and good.

Has anyone done a Locomotion to Jungler conversion? Is there a schematic for Jungler out there?

Thanks @Laschek! That looks like my board. I wish there was a pic of the bottom to confirm the bodges on the bottom as well. I think that pic has all of my top side hacks except for the red and yellow wires on the LS157 at 5K, so I think it is possible to convert Locomotion to Jungler. On my board, 3 of the 5 bipolar proms have been socketed, with 10A and 10G left alone. I'll check if those are any different between Locomotion and Jungler, but that gets me a little further.

I have one (actually two, one is a version with german on-screen text), I try to snap a picture for you when I'm home from work.

Sooo, turns out my german version is on a Konami type bootleg board and the other one on original Konami hardware, both don't have any bodge wires on the bottom.
Plus the original one is on different hardware, the main board is marked Konami KT 7111-1C and is clearly different from the 7108, the soundboard is the same as in the picture I linked, KT 3106-2.

EDIT: I completely missed the fact that my board does not have the bodges at all, except one which I think is a repair. So I guess the 7111 board is an original Jungler? Googling the board number resulted in nothing...
