I have a stack of "Konami" 36 pin boards here that I'm wanting to start digging through. Tutankham, Road Fighter, Mega Zone, Mikie, Super Cobra, etc etc. But it's hard piggy backing anything when all the chips are etched out.

I've checked the manuals and all thats in there are pinouts and dips.

Nothing that's actually really useful.

There are some schematics out there... Mega Zone is one...

I started making a konami custom chip database one time when I started working on some repros...but yeah, they scratched out a lot of chip #'s, so you have to dig through schems.

I think fpgaarcade might have some info on the Konami customs too.

Most of the schematics will list the common stuff like z80, rams, etc. On the customs the schematic will just say "custom". Not alot of help.

I disagree. On all the classic Konami schems I've looked at, it will give you the number of the custom IC (e.g. "082", "083", "501", "KONAMI-1").
Can't find schems for all the boards though.... Couldn't find Track & Field when I needed it a while ago.
Oh, and occasionally you'll find a Konami board where they haven't scratched the tops of the chips off. I try to hold on to those boards. :)

The list on FPGAarcade is pretty good. I've thought about putting a complete list together (I think I have all the boards).

Thanks for the links.

I also found this site: http://www.cityofberwyn.com/

It has the manuals for some of the Konami games, but these actually have schematics, which some of CrazyKong's manuals don't.

That's for anyone else that's browsing and needs them.

EDIT: Just checked... it has your Track and Field schematics there.

Matt is right, I have come across a few that didnt have the numbers scratched off. I guess torwards the end they said screw it. It didnt stop them from bootlegging the boards anyways.

I've just started re-etching them as I run across them in the schematics...

I can understand scratching out their customs, but when they hit up the regular RAM and Z80s?... that's just a little weird.
