Konami 4 Player Cabs

Wrestlefest was a Technos title, not Konami.

The 4 Player Konami Titles include:

The Main Event
Crime Fighters
Crime Fighters 2
TMNT (Also available in 2 player)
TMNT Turtles in Time (Also available in 2 player)
The Simpsons
X-Men (Also available in 2 and 6 player)
Sunset Riders
Wild West C.O.W-Boys of Moo Mesa
GI Joe
Bucky O'Hare (Also available in 2 player, and I think I've seen 3 palyer cabinets as well)
Asterix

I think that's all of them, did I miss any?

PCB Swapping

just trying to resurect this thread a little.

I've been working with Eseyo on this cause we are collecting (over time) Konami 4P boards and also boards that will work in these cabs. (the only thing odd is that there's no start button) The Konami 4P cabs are so common and everyone seems to have converted them to a SF. It's actually a bit different from my Sega 4P cab.

X-men 4P and everything under it that is confirmed a straight swap:
Bucky O Hare (3 buttons)
Simpsons
Cowboys of Moo Mesa
Metamorphic Force
Crime Fighters
Main Event
Sunset Riders
TMNT
TMNT TNT
Vendetta

Others that map correctly on the 15-pin 3/4P aux harnesses
Captain American and the Avengers (Data East)
Growl (taito)

Ones that should work in the cab but need a Aux Harness remap

GI Joe
Wrestle Fest

Can anyone add to this list of boards they've swapped or confirmed can swap.
I'm putting it all into a Txt document about JAMMA AUX/Kick harness games.

Wow I almost forgot I started this thread. Since then I bought a Wrestle Fest and converted it into a TMNT (better game BTW). Hoping to get some more 4-player boards for it soonish.

...and MAME...oh dear lord...MAME. I'm sure you remember when MAME'ing legit cabs first took off and how these cabinets were THE gold standard for those guys. Large CP in order to Frankenstein every control type ever onto. Not that any cabinet type ever escaped this fate, but this was always the recommended cabinet type to hack up.

OH man I totally feel you. One way to mess up a wonderful Konami 4P cab is to stick a track ball and current switched Happ Pac joystick in the middle of it.

The one thing you should consider about Wrestle Fest is the fact that it plays different from many other Konami 4P games. That's also why I like Sunset Riders, it's a shooter so it's different from TMNT, Simpsons, and Xmen. Sadly that Wrestle Fest has only one coin door. It makes it the wrong cab to start w/

How'd you handle the coin slots on that? There's 4 slots on my dedicated machine, each coins up their respective players.

Other than the extra button each, and the single coin door, you wouldn't know it wasn't dedicated.

The speakers are the give away. TMNT was mono sound with one speaker in the center. Other later Konami games (simpsons, xmen, sunset riders, etc) were stereo sound with 2 speakers.

I just wired up p3 & p4 to coin slot 2. While the Wrestle Fest cab isn't identical to Konami it pretty darn close.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but just wanted to add this one to the list...

I just tested "Desert Assault" 4-player on my Konami cab, and it works perfect. The 3 & 4 player pinouts match the Konami harness.

Another PCB that is a wonderful swap into a Konami Cab is Bomberman World /Atomic Punk 2... its a 10 pin aux harness and two action buttons for the game so works with TMNT.
