Anybody here ever try to run any of the Konami 4-player boards like Simpsons, TMNT, etc in a Golden Axe Death Adder 4-player cab (or vice versa, GA-TRODA in a Konami cab?)

Just wondering if the connectors and pinouts were compatible at all, or if it would require some custom wiring?

So I'd just need to rewire a Konami player 3 and 4 board connector to be compatible with the GA-TRODA player 3 and 4 joystick connectors? Make 2 of these and I'd be set?

I'd just make an adapter if there's a molex connector inline on the controls currently. If not then yes make a whole new wiring harness for each.

On my TMNT for example, there's a connector at the board, and the connectors on the controls, but in between the two there is also a molex connector to remove the controls without pulling them directly off the board.

Board<---->Molex Connector<----->Controls

OK, thanks! I'm a newbie when it comes to the wiring, but this sounds like something I can pull off!

You would need an adaptor for the 3P and 4P wire harnesses.
The sega one splits it onto 3 connectors and it doesn't line up dirrectly for the other two.

It's pretty simple to build however.

The 3-P & 4-P wire harnesses on my old Konami cab have a strip connector for the board, and all the wires coming out are separate, just bundled together. I should be able to just cut the connector off the other end, and rewire these into the correct pinout for GA-TRODA cab. That sounds really straightforward. So I guess the last question (for now) is... do you guys know anywhere that sells connectors compatible with the SEGA Death Adder cab?

I think I can do the build if I can find the same connectors to use.

Thanks for all the help, guys. I really hope I can pull this off, it would be great to run all my Konami boards in this big Death Adder cab, with the glorious 25" monitor!

Don't go "cutting" anything, I would just make an adapter to fit the Konami boards, that plugs into the existing wiring either at the board connector end of things, or if you have a molex quick disconnect between things like I mentioned in my previous post.

You'll have to look at the connector(s) and just find mating ones to make yourself another adapter harness for.

Just to be clear, I was talking about cutting a spare Konomi 4p harness I have, not Death Adder -- the Konami harness already has the correct 3p/4p connectors for the Konami boards, so I was considering just cutting the player 3 & 4 harness off, and wiring the cut ends into new adapters to connect to the GA-TRODA control panel. Does that make sense?

These are the CP connectors coming out of Death Adder. I'll need to find compatible connectors for these, all 4 are different.

Yeah I misread you...you're going to use the harness leaving the board ends on, and put new connectors on to mate up with your cabinet. Exactly what I was getting at too.

You'll have to unplug those 4 and take a picture of the pin keying so that you find proper mates.
