"Knocking" sound on release of upper flipper

What's going on here? When the right flipper button on my Frankenstein is released, there's a loud knocking sound inside the cabinet in the area of the upper flipper. The left side doesn't do it.

someone trapped inside maybe? Frankenstein himself? Or your machine is haunted, which would be cool to go with the theme. Serious though while watching the video I couldn't tell, sorry. Oh and some LED's would look great in your pop-bumpers, as I just read you have a light out. Nice game as well, like to see some more video of you playing the game. Jeff

That video's not too helpful, really, as you can't discern exactly how loud the knock is in the clip. In person, it can be fairly distracting.

I'll do a better video of the game once I get some lights replaced. There's quite a few of 'em out at the moment. :(

It bothers me if I notice a light out somewhere on the HS, It like I need to replace it before I play. So I put LED's under all inserts as some were a B**ch to get to, LED's no worries for years, G.I. I left as incandescents of course, on older game like HS LED G.I. dont look good, inserts thats different.

We must have the same machine. Mine does the same thing. I personally know I need to do a flipper rebuild on that one because there's too much play in the flipper when I wiggle it by hand. But I don't know why that would make it sound likes its knocking on the inside right of the machine. It kinda sounds like somethings acutally knocking the ride side of the pin body. If you figure it out before I do, let me know.

I don't know why it took me so long, but I figured out what the knocking was a couple weeks ago when I was waxing the playfield: It's the metal stopper that sits behind the upper-right flipper. That "knock" is the flipper banging against the stopper on release.

Perhaps gluing some felt on the stopper would help silence it?

WOW i was just going to post about the same thing. the upper right flipper on my frankenstein it loud too. guess it must be a frankenstein thing.
