What games do you really want to include in your collection but have no been able to... and why?

DOT/EDOT - Availability issues + price = No DOT/EDOT for The Asshat Arcade. Aside from the fact I "might" be able to swing a DOT price-wise and would probably have to mortgage my house for an EDOT... the fact of the matter is that NEITHER has come within 500 miles of where I live since 2006 when I started this crazy hobby.

CRAZY CLIMBER - Mostly availability issues. A cocktail was offered to me last year by a local but with it's 13" screen and the fact I don't have room for a cocktail, I had to pass. No upright has come close to the Treasure Valley.

SPACE FURY - Again, availability issues. I've never seen one anywhere near here and I am sure if one came up it would go for a bit.

EXIDY 440 SHOOTER - Any of them... none have ever come up around here or I'd have been all over it like stink on poo. Since I first heard of it, I've wanted a 440 multi... >sigh<

JOURNEY COCKTAIL - Availability / condition. Looking for an original with all of its parts and artwork in place. Nothing doing so far.

Will be editing this further in a moment or doing another post with more, but:

Missile Command - Historically when more broke I always put a self imposed limit on this acquisition of about $350. Have not been able to talk anyone down that low and have yet to stumble upon a project bargain. Budget is higher for it now, so I should be able to get one sooner than later.

Food Fight - Because I don't live on the west coast and the game would be around $1500 shipped in most cases. It's just an expensive game (expensive and fun though).

Sega Aero Table - nobody ever seems to be selling one ever anywhere.

There's a few more that are like "it would be really neat but that's WAY outside my budget". Initial D and IIDX come to mind.

Assault - mostly availability issues, until recently when I had a chance to buy one and foolishly didn't pull the trigger fast enough. Someone else got it first, and for a good price.

About the only game I've always wanted, but never had, is Joust.

For over 20 years I've been wanting one, but so far zip.

Joust 1
I had a chance at one about 16 or 17 years ago. The place that I bought my non-working Starship 1 from had both a Joust and a Tempest. Both worked and they wanted $400 for either. I only had enough money to buy the Tempest. I figured I'd get back to the place and buy the Joust or find another one someday. The place closed not to long after that.

Joust 2
A local laundromat had a Joust cocktail. I asked them to name a price, they wouldn't. Knowing the idiot that ran the place he probably sold it for a song about a year later when the place closed.

Joust 3
I tried to buy one on EBay, but the guy pulled the auction right before it ended. I was willing to pay $400 plus.

Joust 4
A guy on Craigslist had a beat up one and he wanted pretty good money for it. Was trying to make a deal and he sold it out from under me.

Joust 5
Pretty much gutted cab in rough shape. Gave up on the deal mostly because it was too far away.(7 hrs one way) Gas and the parts to repair it would cost too much and I'm too broke to get that much money up these days.

Joust 6
I know of a Joust only one hour away, but this guy won't sell anything, just left it to rust in his garage for the last 10 plus years. The garage doesn't even have power.

At this point I give up. My health is crap and I'm broke, so my Joust problem has solved itself. Now I just need to sell all of my games so I can pay some bills.

EDOT, DOT, Journey, Kozmik Krooz'r. I have had the first 3 pop up locally over the last 6 years, but none of them panned out. None of the 4 has popped up locally since.

There was an EDOT for sale in North Central Rural MN about 5 years back. It was actually only about 20 miles from my mom's place in Clarissa or Eagle Bend, both towns with populations of like 200 people. I emailed the guy, waited, emailed again and nothing. Come to find out the game sold to Nash out in LA. I believe he then sold it to Hawaii dude when he did his massive sell-off a few years later (Don't Quote Me On That). Kinda bummed me out as an EDOT was that CLOSE to me, in a rural area that no one besides me and 3 others had ever heard of, yet it was still snapped up and shipped off to Cali without so much as a "sorry it's sold" from the seller. Kinda gave me a little insight into some of the personalities in this hobby.

A year after that, there was a non-working DOT for sale in Southern MN, about an hour and a half to 2 hours from me. I was scared because it was not working and didn't wanna pick up a $400 paperweight so I let it sit. It was sold about 2 months later, again to some one out of state, for I think $350. Still kick myself for that one.

Around the same time, there was a Journey on the Mpls Craigslist that dude wanted $800 for. I thought about grabbing it until Chris talked me out of it, as he had seen it and knew it was missing the tape player and possibly the interface board. "Don't worry, we'll get you one or piece you together one yet" he said. 4 and a half years later and not only do I not have my Journey, I haven't seen one pop up for sale locally since.

There have been two that I was looking for and couldn't find because I am a cheapskate at heart. Tron and ICB. But I just picked both up so now I have everything on my current wish list. So I'm updating my wish list to include DOT now. :) They just almost never pop up and the frenzy surrounding them is crazy.

Yeah, I'd kick you for that myself if I could.

Neither of the games on my list seem to be that rare, it's more a problem of finding one close enough that I can pick it up.

Q*Bert - have the 10-1 kit from Mike Doyle, just need a Q*Bert to put it in. Could have had one with sound issues last summer, but wasn't able to work out a way to pick it up.

Burgertime - These cabinets look gorgeous when fully restored, and I like the game as well. Haven't seen any for sale in Ohio though :(

I am pretty good, I have pretty much everything I really wanted, now almost everything else is a whim.

I am saving money for a ST:TNG, although it will be a long time before I have the money, ($312 saved in a coin box so far).

Ice Cold Beer - finally had a good one lined up and it got sold out from under me...I'll eventually find one, I hope. Folks that have these aren't letting them go though...

Track & Field cocktail - was watching one on eBay a while back and had my snipe bid all set to go and the auction ended about 13 hours early. Really? Hard to find in the cocktail, don't want the upright.

The Ice Cold Beer cocktail is even harder to find!

And yeah, if we are including pins here then I'll toss ST:TNG in there as well.

Cheyenne or an exidy multi
Galaga - had a cocktail. Traded it. Miss it.
Tron
Asteroids Deluxe
Race Drivin

KLOV's MOST WANTED

David from RAM Controls?

Or would it be the guy from Michigan?

Or the delivery service guy from some years ago (that abandoned a truck of games on the side of the road - which included a Warrior)?

Or Joe B?

Or ....(insert name here).

i'll second Space Fury and third ICB/Zeke's Peak, though out of the two i prefer the ZP theme. Assault and Seawolf are two that i've neglected to pick up when available at a reasonable price and i regret having passed on 'em.

i also would love to add Quantum, Zoo Keeper and Mad Planets. all currently out of my price range, but there's always a chance that i'll either be able to pull the cash together or make a trade. i never thought i'd have a Q*Bert either but one came along at the right time and the owner was willing to trade.

Star Wars for me. I've had a few opportunities but the timing hasn't been right given its relatively high price tag. But maybe later this year since I don't have many more games I want to buy anyway.

What's with all the sudden love for Assault? I don't remember anyone talking about it for years and all the sudden everyone seems to want one. Not just in this thread but I keep hearing about it lately.
