Thats why you buy from David Criswell "The Megatouch Guy". Hes nice and does great work. I never bought a board but I can only assume they are of high quality.
I think its themegatouchstore.com

File a dispute so it locks up his money until he does something. Chances are PayPal will still rule in your favor.

The good news is that if you do end up getting your money back from that guy caps are pretty easy to fix. You could end up with the board and the money. I have a board that is dead, and I can see 1 completely blown cap and one that looks blown with a little discoloration on top. Even ordering a few extras it was only $20 from Mouser.

Yeah, I think I am going to try to repair. When I plug it in to ATX I get a red led light on the board and no video at all. It is a Unicorn board and its pretty common for them to have issues.

Yup exactly the same here. Unicorn board, at least one blown cap, red light on board and no video. I'm hoping this fixes it.

Funny, I was going to PM you offering my extras.... My Mouser order shipped already. Just to be double sure, I ordered the same caps I would if I was capping a monitor. They don't need to be any special type or kind, do they?

Dave is the best when it comes to Megatouch repair and parts. He charges more, but he it top notch and honors his warranties. Hell he'll tell you how to fix things yourself if you just take the time to email him.

Uhhh What Paypal are you using? Only time you get your money back and get to keep the merchandise is if he never responds to the dispute and that's a very low percentage.

You will be on the hook for shipping it back before you get your $$ back and you will only get the cost as shipping to you doesnt count.

Cant you escalate it to a claim instead? I dont think youre completely dead in the water yet.

was working when removed a year ago. this means it does not work. this is about the same ol lame line i used to hear at toy shows. if i was interested in an old battery operated toy, sometimes the seller would say, i dont know if it works...i never put batteries in it. one guy had an old robot and wanted 400.00 for it. he gave me the line and stated that if it does work, then you have a great robot. i then took out two brand new d-sized batteries and tested the robot. it was plain dead as hell. i told him it was not worth that amount if it has to be repaired. i guess same for arcade games.

the ad says was working a year ago has no claim in the ad that it is working it even states that its sold as is in giant letters why file a claim its basically a non tested as is board you got what you paid for. this is the problem with ebay, people dont read the descriptions then they file a claim when the ad was very clear

I'm sorry I don't agree with this. There is a big difference between "was working a year ago when it was pulled" and "no chance in hell of working because of physical damage" (blown caps in this case) It was a broken board that was not sold as broken. It was not working when it was pulled, the caps didn't blow sitting on a shelf after being pulled...

I do agree that working a year ago when pulled should mean non-working, but there is also a big difference between a non working board and a physically broken board.

I made the claim originally because after 2.5 weeks I still did not have contact or delivery confirmation. I never started a claim because of a broke product.

I opened the thread to warn others to be careful.

a link to the actual auction he bid on could tell you if the caps were physically blown in the example auction he posted a link to the picture was very clear i assume you could have seen if a cap was blown if it was a similar quality photo in the auction.
either way i am out of this discussion nothing good can come from these types of threads
