This is the official thread for Season 1, week 4. REPLY HERE WITH YOUR TWO (2) SCORES!

This is an offshoot of pinzach's RGPL.

Everything here is experimental and subject to change as we go along. I liked Zach's RGPL, and just miss it, so I want to bring something like it back.

Please read the rules, provided by pinzach, at:
http://www.pinzach.com/rules.htm

Also note the list of qualified machines and medians at:
http://www.pinzach.com/rgp medians.htm

Current Standings are here:
http://tinyurl.com/3ns5tla

We will be probably be scoring for eight weeks with two throw outs (throw outs will still count toward the median.

Pics are encouraged but not required.

I pulled the BSD score off out of nowhere. Ball 1 ended with 30million and change up. I knew it was going nowhere and I was going to have a crap total score. But on ball two I got tripple multiball and a free ball by looping. On the free ball I got double multiball. On ball 3 I got double multiball once, coffin mutliball and another free ball by completing video mode two. On the second free ball all I got was a second round of bats and mist multiball.

You need to post some video of these games. Where are you located? The international space station? ; )

No, there's plenty of gravity here. The game is actually set up pretty hard IMO. It is set pretty steep (7deg.), normal settings except for the video mode which is set to HARD, and I just re-waxed it last week so it plays insanely fast.

Sorry, no video. My iphone would be my only way of videoing a game. But I did think to take a pic after the game for verification, though pics don't really prove anything I guess.

also keep in mind THE COUNT has bigger flippers on his BSD than what is stock on them. So if you are playing with the normal flippers you wouldnt be expected to get anywhere near his score. So i would believe those scores are a little off skew from the medians.

This is just off memory from old posts, i remember there was two people who put the bigger blood red flippers on their BSD's lately and i think THE COUNT was one of them. If not then i apologize to THE COUNT.

I do have the normal length blood red flippers on my BSD. I recently put them on and it can increase ball times, especially for those of us not very good at nudging :) I think the other big improvement is in shooting the video mode loop. It was hard for me to purposely shoot that loop with the short flippers, but not so much anymore.

With that said, I'd say a BSD with short lightning flippers, less pitch, loose tilt setting and some good nudging would be no harder than mine to post scores above 1 billion. There are no pitch guidelines (in which mine would probably be steeper pitched than alot of others) or tilit setting(mine's set pretty tight) guidelines for these league games, so every BSD is going to be different.

With THAT said, if the league organizer Gibbous wants to throw out my BSD scores from the past two weeks, then that's fine. I'm not going to switch back from the blood red flippers since the game was originally designed for them, and they were PRICEY! So if he feels that they aren't fair scores, then throw them out and I'll continue to play on TZ and Dirty Harry.

On a side note, Guses is using full length bats as well if I'm not mistaken. I'm pretty sure of this since he is interested in buying a set of lightning bats for his BSD from me at the Houton Acade Expo.

So if you are playing with the normal flippers you wouldnt be expected to get anywhere near his score.

They hardly make that much of a difference IMO, if you are a good player, it's not whether the bats are a bit shorter, it's what shots you choose, and your ability to control the ball.

That quote is totally inaccurate, I've cracked 2billion many times with lightning flips...and I'm only an average player compared to some people I've watched...

My game is set up pretty standard. I have lightning flippers on my game, but one of them is mismatched and I'd like to get a new set.

My game is particularly merciless. For example, if I hold the right flipper up and bounce the ball from the altar hole it drains. I notice how the game is leveled also has a big impact on how hard it plays. I'm not complaining. I'm just noting that this game is like playing a tennis pro: you can't afford to make a mistake or you'll lose the ball.

Exactly, there is NO room for error in a game of BSD. If it is set up right, it is brutal. Unavoidable center drains are going to happen no matter what flipper bats you use.

I need to start practicing on my league game machine more in advance. This weekend I hit 4.6T on STTNG (just one mode away from starting FF for a second time! UGH!). Unfortunately my league games were on Friday on location.

Just hit home how much "home pin" advantage I rely on. I'm trying to play a different one every week, but I'm out of pins at home unless I get my Taxi fixed.

Sometimes thats not an advantage lol. As you see by my scores. Flippers are gimp and havent been able to get it level enough. Obviously neither is helping me with acores all over the place like that!!

THE COUNT counts to 1.2T this week to pass queses in the overall standings.
