klov "part out" forum section

My personal opinion is - if a game has some damage that you can't fix yourself, and you aren't buying it specifically to use the parts to fix a game you already have (for example, buying a Toobin because you need a medium-res monitor for your Paperboy), then you probably shouldn't be buying it if you don't plan on keeping and playing it as it is until you find a better cabinet.

I have fixed many games that others would have tossed on the junk pile....

There's too much worrying about other people going on here.Worrying about what other people do with their games that you have little to no control over is admirable in a sense, but ultimately pointless and foolish. There's way more important things to worry about, like YOUR OWN games. :D So relax, grab your favorite tasty beverage, play your favorite game and marvel in the fact that you own something you have fond childhood memories of and can share that with friends and family. :)

This isn't the non-working one from the auction is it?

Oh hell no! This one barley stands up straight the water damage is so bad.

Shipping prices is what kills this hobby, when the game price is equal to or less than the shipping price it really effects the sale. So most people have a set radius that they are willing to drive. Then the rest is up to fate.

Shipping is almost seen as tax. Average Galaga is $350 + $300 shipping = $650. When was the last time you paid $650 for an average Galaga.

That's why you see all the "if only you were closer" posts.

There's enough of us out there, we just don't live close enough to each other.
Solve the shipping problem you'll save the hobby

If you couldn't have done it yourself and had to pay someone else to do it for you (labor), it WOULD have cost the $200 probably...

very true. however, when the person in question already has a nice one on location working 100%, there's a good chance it would've eventually been parted.

We need to setup some sorta inner state shipping system
amoung ourselves..

I've read dozens of posts about people going hundreds and hundreds
of miles to pickup a game.. maybe have a forum section for it.

Or.. maybe we should approach NAVL or another national trucking
company as a group and see what kinda discount rates would could
get.

I used to ship 4x6 pallets stacked 9ft high from NJ to Wash state
for $250 a pallet. We got 70% off standard rates and we didnt ship
hardly anything freight.

That would make moving games amoung ourselves cheaper.
