KLOV-filled Saturday and 2 new games added to the arcade...

I had a great KLOV-filled day yesterday. I picked up a couple of games and got to meet two KLOVers for the first time. I always enjoy these times because it's when you finally meet face to face with guys that you realize how cool they are outside of the forum.

Around lunchtime, Slackmoe and I made a deal for my recently restored Vs. upright. Very cool guy. It was a pleasure chatting it up and I enjoyed the company of a veteran collector. It just reminded me how much I need to learn about this hobby and how much I can look forward to enjoying it for years to come. I picked up a nice solid wood Popeye in great shape in return. This is one of the games I will be bringing to CAX this year.

I've wanted to own a SF2:WW ever since I was a kid as it was one of the games my older brother and I played the most. After a few weeks of hashing out the details, Prairied1ll0 came over late night with a SF2:WW in a Dynamo HS-1 cabinet and I was ecstatic. Another very cool guy who has a passion and a wealth of knowledge for gaming in general. I wasn't too familiar with how JAMMA games worked so he basically gave me a crash course and showed me how to install the monitor and all the hookups. We played a couple of rounds and he crushed me with his Capcom fighting skills.

Both cabs need some cleaning up, but are complete and working flawlessly. So I'm very happy with what I have now as I'm maxed out in real estate. Though, I'm excited to finally have the Dynamo JAMMA cab which will enable me to swap out a numerous amount of games.

Thanks again to Andrew and John. You guys made my day. :D

Congrats, Jess! Those both look great. Too bad you couldn't find a SFII in a Nintendo cab, lol. So if I understand correctly, you no longer have your vs. The Goonies? I really loved the restoration you did on that. Your collection seems to have hit a growth spurt...;)

Thanks! No, I do not have the Vs. UR anymore. But I still kept my Vs. The Goonies kit for a possible future project once we move into a bigger place. I just felt it was unecessary (given the amount of space I have) to have a Vs UniSystem and a Vs DualSysytem when I can simply swap out PCBs.

I know a lot of work went into that restore, but a lot work goes into all of my games and it was before I knew I would be getting the red tent, something I never thought I would own. So I got two games out of selling/trading the one. I still own Vs. The Goonies. I just don't have an UR cab to display it in anymore.

I'm glad you enjoyed the restore though. I'll be doing one soon on my WB Mario Bros. :)

Nice find! A nintendo Popeye! From the angle of the image it doesn't seem like it has side art. Am I wrong?

Any ways I bet we all look forward to seeing it at CAX!

No, unfortunately, no side art. Maybe eventually I'll shell out the $85 + shipping to Arcadeshop. For now, I'm going to clean it up and it will sit between DK Jr. and Mario Bros. Great attract mode sound and I like that it has built in free play if needed.

I will be ordering some T-molding but I will also be restoring the cab. The corners need repairs and then I need to fill in all the holes and imperfections. Then, a good sanding and repainting or vinyl. I got NOS side art and CPO to apply as well. It's going to look Haduken-tastic when I'm through with it.

yup yup

It's the one that I traded an old digital camera for. It had needed a new flyback but I fried that chassis and then put in a different working chassis that I then just capped.

I collected the new Marquee, Bezel, NOS CPO and NOS Side Art for it ... but then in order to make room for my game coming in tonight/tomorrow as well as nother from SacTown... I decided to send this baby to a good home. I have an empty HS1 that I'm looking for parts for also.... it'll come together soon also...

and then I'll have a twin bro to this cab....

Although this cab needs a paint patch and clean-up... it's at least 100% working and completely an original SF2:WW. I couldn't get guile to freezepose... so i think this is the patched ROMs... then again I was never good at the bugs.
