It is now stated that the arcade preservation movement is in full effect.

No Games in your possesion may be parted, disassembled, or looked at funny without express permission from at least 3 board members.

Any members not adhering to this bylaw, will be banned.

Board Members TBA at a later time.

"I'm still waiting to see the KLOV code of ethics statement as it pertains to arcade preservation. Could someone please show me where it states that all games in your posession must be preserved and passing on/selling of parts to preserve another is strictly prohibited?

Until it's written that you must conform to this policy to be a member, will the whiners please lay off?"

Good luck getting this one to pass legislation my friend. While you're busy rounding up votes, the one who whines the most will be busy selling parts from vector games that mysteriously appeared out of thin air.

For the record, you can always count me in for a yay vote. Now you only need two!

It's very clear how this works.

The people that are ok with the parting out of games are ones that usually are selling parts in the for sale section.

Really? Perhaps you need to spend a little more time in the for sale section. It's fairly blurry to me and i've got a new prescription!

I'm trying for you man!

Remember, Board Members are TBA. You are not one yet!:D

I think the idea of parts coming from thin air is a common thought...

My games are just that - "mine" and I will do with them what I damn well please with no need for any outside approval. You won't get my "yea" vote on this proposal.

:D

Some of the parts I sell came from operator warehouse raids back in the day. Some I bought on ebay as non-working and repaired them so people can get their games going. When I do buy parts, I do my best to make sure that they were not from a working or salvageable game.
At the end of the day I know what I have done to help people get their games going. That's all that matters to me. Why don't you do some research before making hollow accusations ?

Why are you being defensive Dave? Did i mention your name. I know you've done plenty my good man and i have as well but will the day come when we can agree that no matter how hard you/others try, things like this are gonna happen and it doesn't matter who wants to bitch about it?

BTW Dave, i'm gonna be at CAX again this year, how about a beer? I'll buy!

Actually I spend more time there than I should. I bought from you more than once. But you will see things from your point of view and I will see them from mine. I've been watching these trends since 1999 in the newsgroups, it's the same old thing over and over again.

i dont sell parts and im ok with it.

without parts to fix my machines, i would have several dead ones. used parts saves me a ton of money and to be honest the only way you can get half of these parts is to find them used.

Im sorry some people feel others are "murdering classics" but without parts to fix our machines, we would all be collecting big paperweights.

I completely stripped and dissasembled a track n field Yesterday. Cabinet in pieces. Programmed it into the cnc, cut a new one, installed all the parts in the new cab, stacked old cab in the corner :D

All in one day?! That makes me dizzy.
