Hello,

I visited The Arcade in Brighton, MI this weekend & they currently have a KLAX Mini in their possession. It's really a roll of the dice how long it will be there, because they're always buying, trading & selling games. I snapped a few pics of the side & the CPO, so (Carrie Z) you can PM me & we can arrange a photo share if you're interested; furthermore, maybe there's someone in the area that could scan the art, which would produce the best results.

The family that owns The Arcade is quite nice, so I wager that could be accomplished.

Be Well,

Francis J. Fox

I'd love to get new side art and the printed cardboard bezel. Joeycuda made the black monitor bezel (that goes behind the printed bezel) if anyone needs one of them.

Wasn't this a part of Todd Tuckey's mini collection or did all of it end up in Howell?

Are KLAX minis gaining in popularity? I don't recall hearing anyone else ever asking for artwork. I have a KLAX mini I'm considering parting with. [emoji3]

That's great!! I'd love to get the cabaret side art -- it's really cool but given how it follows the lines of the game, scanning the image will almost certainly be needed! Thank you for thinking about me and snapping and pictures, and absolutely . . . let's talk!

The cabaret CPO is what needs to be reproduced. They should be the same purple as the sideart, not the dingy nicotine brown they've almost all turned. I recall reading something years ago that the discoloration was due to something Atari used in the top sheet and it's the same reason Klax upright marquees turn the same brown color.

It's likely the same material as was used on 720 and some other games of the period. The clear layer yellows badly.

Toobin was apparently done with a different material.

I have a Klax Cabaret with intact side art, and I live close to TOG. I could reach out to Rich about scanning my cabinet and printing new art, if there's interest. Same for the CPO, though I'm not sure how you scan it when it's been applied.

Klax is an underrated game, and the Cabaret cabinet is pretty neat. Not many 19" horizontal minis out there. Took me quite a while to track down the Klax and Tetris cabarets I have.

i got a conversation going with mike now of Brighton arcade over the purchase of this klax machine... haven't been quoted a price yet, but i'll let ya know what transpires... always wanted a klax, a cabaret is even cooler! thanks for the heads-up! :)

Good luck, hope you get it. I am just finishing my dedicated Tetris cabaret. I too like the 19" horizontal monitor feature on these cabarets.

minimum 1500 im guessing

thats MADNESS!!! i was expecting to pay a max of $500 :)

barlow inquired about a ROACHED track and field cocktail *as a matter of fact, the one we all played at expo* he wanted 1300 for it and it looked like it floated in from the detroit river......

ive talked with mygari a few times, he was condescending douche every time

not a fan

side note someone was selling a klax mini playing blind on one of the facebook groups for a smooth 100 bucks

i think it was the midwest page?

I paid $280 for mine 11 months ago. BIN price on eBay, cab was in south Oregon, had a nice day trip with my daughter to pick it up.

Great shape, fully working, just swapped out some locks and shoved it into the Atari Cabaret row.

Hey Carrie Z ~ I checked your Blog & it's been almost a year since you posted..! Wa Wa

Nice work on the AH Podcast ~ Ya'll crack me up

I know . . . lame, right? I've had the next story on the verge of being ready to post for a couple of months now. The trackball on the game that the story is about has been vexing me, but as soon a replacement optical board arrives, then the story should have the happy ending it deserves and I can post it. As a teaser, I'll tell you that it's told from the perspective of my Missile Command cabaret, which speaks in a Soviet accent. It's a dark and quirky tale. I'll let you know when I get it published!

Glad you are enjoying the show! It's a lot of fun to participate in!
