Kit games that deserve a dedicated cab...

Paperboy... the generic System 2 cabinet is NOT a dedicated cabinet!

Same goes with Marble Madness and the generic System 1 cabinet.

Strikers 1945

To be honest, I'll say most shooters. I fucking love shooters.

As a shmup fan myself, I disagree. Shmups belong in generic cabinets (preferably candycabs with chairs or uprights with barstools) for easy rotation.

Actually, I don't really see the fascination with dedicated cabinets. Unless the game has a very unusual and exotic feature that can't be easily implemented on a generic cabinet (i.e. DDR) it probably doesn't deserve its own dedicab. We could really do with a better sideart switching system though...

For Red Baron, at least the cockpit cab can be called dedicated. I think the upright Red Baron and games like Black Widow are more subjective. To me they are dedicated if they left the factory as that game even if they were converted at the factory.

There was a dedicated Red Barron upright... but I think it's a proto and they decided to kit it to the BZ cab before it went in to production.

+1 for arkanoid,mines in a stargate cab.

I agree, Arkanoid is the best designed 'major' kit game ever made. It's considered a classic game, which not many kits can claim that. I've got one here, I get people hooked on it all the time that either haven't played it, or forgot about it. It's addictive and simple to understand, but has tons of variety so you can play it for as long or as little as you like.

Raiden II

my favorite top shooter and it was just in a generic jamma cab with a fabtek CPO.......
