Well, i only got one PM from someone about the auction this saturday. So i thought i would try this again.

Who will be at the auction. Since im travelling almost 800 miles to get to it. Id like to know if anyone from here is going to be there to meet a few new people from other areas. So let me know if your going to be there and i can introduce myself to you at the sale

I'll be going....I think at least 5 of us from Nashville are going in some aspect to buy/sell. I know of a few others in the state going; should be decent since there hasn't been one here since June.

I will be there. Taking a couple pins to sell. Not sure which yet. I believe a few from Louisville will be there as well.

Tony, what pins do you have? I usually buy pins at these auctions....just PM me if you want, might save you the hassle of putting them in the auction =P

So how do you qualify to not have to pay the buyers premium at these things? Just show you have a state coinop license or what?

Wish I could make it to this one, but I am going to have to pass. Purchased too many large items and have several other trips in the making.

Maybe head down in November when they next roll through. I hope to see some pictures from this weekend's auction :)

Auction Game Sales @ Kingsport and Sales Tax

What are the specific requirements to save on the taxes at this auction?

To not have to pay any tax there you will need to be in the industry and show a sales and use tax document to them when you get your bidder number. You just have to show this to them the first time and then you should be all set for future auctions.

If you guys don't care post some prices of some items when you get back. I'm making plans to hit that one in November and would love to see if any deals are had to kinda feel out if it's worth it. The whole buyers premium plus sales tax really drives the price up for a non business.

Pretty sure its a tax resell number. I had one years....upon years ago. You have to fill out tax sheets every 3 months to keep up with what you have bought, what you have sold, and the taxes you collected on it when you sold it. Although, they can stick you with some other 3% non arcade buyer BS fee. Just tell them your in the business and give them the name of your arcade when you register at the desk. Any name will work if its unique to their records. Just tell them the same name every time you go. You could be Fatsquatch's Billiards and Arcade. If you've ever sold one of your games, guess what....your a dealer. If you haven't, maybe you have had one on local somewhere. Same thing. Then you could tell them, I just have a small local route. Doesn't really matter if its in your basement. They don't really need to know that. But you can do what you want.
And since I only sell services with my business in the IT field, I'm S.O.L.

Thanks, all!

had the van packed and ready to go last night... then reality started to sink in.. with 20% buyers/tax ... $150+ in gas... just not worth it anymore especially for pins... still deals to be had for arcades/other stuff when it's cheap..meh
